England haven't even had to be that good to beat this Italy team ..
Agreed - they had a reasonable spell around the time they scored, but have been very passive. Nowhere near as aggressive as a usual Italian team (haven't got a Pirlo, Baggio type either)

We celebrated a 0-0 in the late 90s away in Italy like we'd won the world cup ..they were that good


That fear that came with playing Italy has long gone

With Phillips it's because he's still probably the best we have in that role. The City move obviously hasn't worked out but they're the best team in the world, he'd get in practically every other PL team.

Maguire is a trusted favourite of Southgate.
Agree on Phillips, he's a decent player
