Agree Otis, and I’ll add that 90 minutes is just a bridge too far for him. Never looks completely fit.I like Palmer. But he will only ever be a bit player here. I would like to see him from off the bench, because he can offer something a bit different
I think he's too much of a luxury player for him to be starting every week.
But he can take a set piece and a corner - at moment Eccles can’t get enough practiceAgree Otis, and I’ll add that 90 minutes is just a bridge too far for him. Never looks completely fit.
False 9 behind a striker? When he’s back I Wouldn’t mind seeing him start as a false 9 behind one of Wright or Simms. Gives him less running to do and focus more on getting some quality service to the striker.
I remember dating a woman who said her husband had died. She was a false widow.False 9 behind a striker?
False 9 behind a striker?
Pretty sure nobody ever said the player was world class. It was just about one particular flick wasn't it? And to be fair it was as good a flick as you'll seeYou described him as world class
Complete luxury player, however considering I doubt we’re contributing too much towards having him and we’re not really reliant on loan players this season (so he’s not taking up a slot we could use elsewhere) I’d keep him around, he will only improveAt least he knows how we play. I’d far rather we had a top of the box midfield of COH/Allen/Palmer rotating, and use the strikers if not working. Ayari should go back to Brighton in January
It seems like 90 minutes is too long for all of our players. What makes Palmer unique amongst all of the other under performing players?Agree Otis, and I’ll add that 90 minutes is just a bridge too far for him. Never looks completely fit.
So he’s the kind of player that could go on for 15 minutes in the prem? Our team lets him down as much as his own failings. It’s a crazy scenario where we look for entertainment, yet the very players that have the ability are dissed by some. Luxury players make a difference.Complete luxury player, however considering I doubt we’re contributing too much towards having him and we’re not really reliant on loan players this season (so he’s not taking up a slot we could use elsewhere) I’d keep him around, he will only improve
Isn’t that how we are playing at the moment. Our football is not exactly progressive is it? I’d rather have Palmer than some of the other players.I’d offload Palmer. Passenger. Not enough output. Slows the game down and too much tippy tappy.
The few occasions he is on it he’s great but that’s not often.
It's also just not true. The “Palmer is lazy” meme is ironically one of the laziest opinions on here.
Corners rarely result in goals and whilst a fit Palmer would undoubtedly be useful I doubt him taking corners would make much difference. Man City had 12 corners in their 3-0 win against Man Utd last week. None of them resulted in goals. Even with Hamer on corners we rarely scored from them.We will score goals once Palmer returns, he is the only deadball specialist left at the club.
Corners will become an attacking threat again.
Nope. I think he just lacks staminaIt's also just not true.
They will want him back and I can see him being a semi success at another club for the second half of the seasonComplete luxury player, however considering I doubt we’re contributing too much towards having him and we’re not really reliant on loan players this season (so he’s not taking up a slot we could use elsewhere) I’d keep him around, he will only improve
No, he has talent but is miles off making any sort of impact in the PLSo he’s the kind of player that could go on for 15 minutes in the prem? Our team lets him down as much as his own failings. Given that he’s with us, I agree wholeheartedly! No, he has talent but is miles off making any sort of impact in the PL

He’s talking about Ayari I thinkHe's 27 and cannot assure himself of a place in a championship team regularly.

Berbatov is the last true great one I can think of to play in the PremThe game has moved on in terms of energy levels, fitness requirements and overall work rate.
It’s odd when people say dinosaur football as he would have thrived in that era when such requirements did not matter - so we had the Marsh, Bowles and Currie type players. He is like Duncan McKenzie to me - a player who would just not play in todays era in the top flight
We ain’t in the premier leagueNo, he has talent but is miles off making any sort of impact in the PL
Sigh. Read the post I quotedWe ain’t in the premier league
Think it was more a case of Berbatov making it look effortless, as opposed to a lack of effortBerbatov is the last true great one I can think of to play in the Prem

Majestic player on his day
Then why did we sign him been out more than in complete waste of wages.Agree Otis, and I’ll add that 90 minutes is just a bridge too far for him. Never looks completely fit.
