A sell on for a 400% profit after six months is for the birds, surely? He's playing in a league no better than the championship now. If top teams didn't want him six months ago, why would they pay so much more now?

This has to be agent talk and clickbait for websites.

It's profile though. A bigger club, doing it in Europe, and becoming one of the main men for Sweden too.

It’s not a nuance it’s just simple maths. Portuguese know maths. Any of these deals and anyone involved will have lawyers coming out of their arse anyway
Based on our track record with medicals and translators, bet we just waved it in front of someone at Citizens Advice

The nuance is in the potential understanding of the meaning of language, not the maths

As far as I can tell from interpreting what I have read on the internet, is its not a reduction at all but a series of payments once targets are met, which will then be taken into consideration if he is sold, by up to 10%. So if he reaches 25 goals this season it's reported we will receive 1m euros, but that amount will eventually be deducted from any sell on money.
does anyone else see it this way?
So if he gets sold we will still receive the 15% or whatever the figure is, but we might already have received some of it due to targets met. Otherwise the wording makes no sense.

It’s

15% - (0.10 x 15%) = 13.5%

vs

15% - 10% = 5%

There’s no nuance of language to be interpreted.…it’ll be clearly contracted, they are luckily not relying on the 5th hand regurgitation of a forum poster
This, in spades. There is only one way to calculate this. It's a common mistake to conflate percentages with percentage points; they are very different things. Nuance has no place in maths.

Are you seriously saying the club’s going to try and persuade Sporting to pay us millions of pounds off the back of some “He’s 28 until he’s 29” shenanigans?

No, but I've heard of people trying to start legal proceedings on more spurious grounds. So many contract lawl cases are people arguing the toss over interpretation and wording.

For what it's worth, for me it would mean it could drop to 13.5%, but that doesn't mean one side or the other wouldn't argue differently to gain a bit of cash.

They'd be laughed out of court, not that it would get that far.

Coventry City FC. Spurious legals. Surely not?

All the arrogant Prem "fans" doing the whole "who?" bollocks on Twitter.

Not saying he can necessarily do it at a top 6 club, but was 100% worth the gamble for £20m. Now they're going to have to pay 5x to find out 🤦‍♂️🤣
Well TBF it would have had to be £30 +m in that scenario had he not said where he wanted to go.

It’s honestly almost certain that he will play in the premier league. Don’t think it will be Jan but won’t be long.

Surely Chelsea will offer him a 16 year deal like they do everyone else.
