I compare the two because Everton sold Simms (striker) and signed Beto (striker). Yes Simms wasn’t great in 23…but Beto has been shite in 23 and 24. Honestly think Simms looks better and I am definitely in no way biased with my sky blues tinted glasses on.

People simply expected too much too soon. If he was already at Vik's level then he'd have commanded a similar fee.

Beto is distinctly average. He’s probably a 10-15 goal a season Championship striker so Everton should have just kept Simms. But that’s the ridiculousness of football in this era. It’s why Robins is like a breath of fresh air with his honesty and realism.

I changed my mind on those 2 fairly soon after this. I'm proud of the shout though, to me it was always clear it was the best formation for this group.
Also I would say Dasilva and Lati are probably the 2 that suffered most from this formation change as in the old formation they were decent enough.
