Doubling our money on him wouldn't be the worst bit of business in the world. Can definitely replace what he's given us this season for £1-2m and have cash spare for further signings.

I imagine doing the weird Klopp thing would go down well there
Love the win celebrations from MVE - our fans always seem to have a desperate need to find a negative.
Van Ewijk has been terrible this season. I’d take the money and run if a decent fee was offered.
Disagree. MVE has certainly been overplayed in a team that has struggled. Not his fault we don’t have a back up. But he’s top class and a real player.

MVE £10m we defo have to sell. Though getting 2 RBs in would be needed. Haji I’m starting to miss already before he’s off - we’ll look fondly on his time here when he leaves. But he’s our best asset and an opportunity to cash in.

King and Robins said last summer that it will take a big offer to sign our players. Sure one of the Dutch clubs were sniffing and the figure was £10M Min so unlikely a Turkish team has that kind of cash currently.
Plus not sure it’s a place a lot of footballers want to live or play.

Galatasaray are paying £200k a week for Osimhen and signed Sara for £15m in the summer, they easily have the money if this is true of course.

Some truly bizarre takes here. Sell X, Y and Z and free up £20m etc. The problem is you’ve got to spend your £20m just to get the equivalent of X, Y and Z. You’ve got to hold on to your proven players where it is possible. So we should be busting a gut to keep Van Ewijk, Wright, Sheaf. It’s the smart, less damaging moves you’ve got to focus on. If we could offload any of Simms, Kitching, Dasilva, Binks, Collins, Torp or Sakamoto for half decent cash it’s worth doing. All on decent wages. Gives you a free hit to replace and probably improve the squad. Rather than definitely weakening it and gambling on your replacement

Yeah not sure why people are lumping them in with the rest of the Turkish teams, the big 3 are in another league financially to the rest.

Names like Mourinho, Osimhen, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Icardi, Dzeko etc. don't come cheap.

The thing is our window of opportunity is closing for this group.

Sheaf will be off in the summer unless he signs a new contract. Assuming Wright comes back in the same form I wouldn't be surprised if he goes too. Simms isn't even getting starts at the moment, and there would be interest I'm sure, so he might want to leave too. Then we have MVE where we know there's interest from clubs much more glamourous than mid table in the championship.

Summer 2025 could end up being a semi rebuild.

Also no one in their right mind is giving us half decent cash for Dasilva or Collins now :ROFLMAO: we'd do well to ship them off for free

Absolutely re Collins and Dasilva but you free up wages. Taken in its simplest terms you get to have a go at another two players who might add value by getting rid of two who definitely don’t. Of course it can’t just be done like that as the best players are the ones people are after. But we should be doing everything we can to keep our best players.

Not exactly shocking news but from an ITK contact at another championship team we're actively looking to offload Da Silva and Collins.

My contact said what we all think, we'd need to come to some agreement about wages given the time they have left on their contracts.

This is a real concern for me. We've gone from thinking this group will be in and around the play offs but are maybe one or two key singings away to talking about a significant overhaul.

With potentially that many changes we all know what will happen, we'll need weeks / months before we start seeing them gel as a team.

Not sure I'm happy with writing off this season and next. Fear that will lead us in the direction of the managerial merry go round.

Could easily happen now

The gelling thing was a sound bite really. Newly put together teams are perfectly capable of starting well. It’s purely about getting players that are good enough
possible but how often have we got off to a flying start and how many players have been written off after a handful of appearances?

Bit torn on selling the better players now as still not convinced we couldn’t be dragged back into the relegation battle.

That said I don’t see the current group as good enough for promotion. If Sheaf / MVE want out or we have a decent offer in January for them is it worth taking the dough and getting the replacements in early so we can make a better start next season?

I can see Harvey Vale definitely being a target he can play in multiple positions and is young enough to improve as a player with good coaching. I also wouldn't be shocked to see the CB from Reading.

Im sure we will see a few going the other way including JDS, Collins, Kitching and Tavares. Could be a busy one.

See if I was in charge of recruitment, I’d be running a bloated squad from the summer window, where it’s far easier to bring players in for lower cost, and selling 1-2 in January each year where you can generally command a higher premium. It gives you the opportunity to bring in the eventual replacements and get them settled earlier and hopefully maximise income. Likely require a bridging fund constantly but yeah.

Just seen that Anselmino has been recalled by Chelsea, presumably to be loaned out again, wasn't someone suggesting him for us?

Can't see it myself tho.
