This is it

I'm not big in to politics because it's just 2 cheeks of the same arse isn't it

Whoever people have voted for, the crux is Britain is being let down by those in power and has been for decades.

None of them have come up with a plan to actually fix the NHS instead of just saying it

None of them have stopped the rampant profiteering from places such as supermarkets, insurance companies etc

None of them have the bollocks to tell councils and others that the millions they rake in a week from the taxpayer have been pissed away

None of them have got a handle on rampant uncontrolled immigration

I could go on

Britain will always be a choice between 2 parties who are fuck all different when you get down to it
Do you think there is any good leadership?
At work or in anything you’re Involved in

What does that look like
What would you like to see

as for councils you know adult and children’s social care is fucked don’t you?

what’s the solution if we don’t give some more money to invest in enough people to do the job properly

Woke up this morning feeling fine, how's your new world you were bragging about?

You might catch on that they are all cunts one day, regardless of what colour tie they have on.

It's a new world because those corrupt Tory cunts are no longer destroying every single public service. So yeah, fine, thanks for asking.

It's just the corrupt Labour Cunts instead.

Cracks me up when people are invested like it's their football team.

Im not. But when I’m making the point that new governments often don’t poll well I’m not sure it’s relevant. I know you really really want a Tory govt in 2029, i just think you’ll have to wait a bit.

New governments sometimes don't poll well but that's usually when they're not doing anything anybody wants

Even a moderate wealth tax would generate substantial income.
Instead they’re making concessions to non-doms, allowing rampant profiteering in the energy and water sectors as just 2 examples.
They may not be the Tories or culpable for what they have done, but they have no desire to do anything different.

And yet reform are calling them the most left wing givebrment in history and Marxist

Yeah no shit. Every government does stuff people don’t want. Best to do it at the start.

They're not even trying to hide it.

At the next election both Labour and the Conservatives deserve nothing more than a total whitewash defeat. The problem is, I have no faith in the general public using their brains and voting for anything other than a 'safe choice', and I have next to no faith there is anyone else out there willing to step up and fill this void with any kind of common sense approach and policies.

What they're getting away with at present is absolutely shocking, though. I agree with you.
I don't necessarily disagree with you, but it that were to happen what happens instead? You've essentially only got three other 'mainstream' parties left and I don't think any of them would be great.

LD's would be very similar to what we've seen before.
Reform would be much worse than either and I would be extremely fearful about what they would implement.
Greens IMO do seem to have an idea of where we need to get to (mixed in with some unnecessary stuff) but due to the cost and the amount of pushback from those with money and influence they'd make sure that the international markets had no confidence in them whatsoever, leading to even greater funding problems.

No matter which way you turn you walk smack into a brick wall.

OK point out the billions of pounds that this government have handed out to their mates then.
It’s early days, give it time.
Train drivers pay rise will be £1bn over 6 years. There will be more, it’s just the nature of the mates who have changed.

To all of our supporters and those who have helped us out in the past, please don't click away from this important message.
Last year saw the most expensive general election campaign of all time for Labour and it was money well spent. But winning wasn’t the finish line. The work of change is just beginning and the need for us to fundraise in 2025 is as urgent as any other year.
Because this is what we’re up against - the Tories remain a threat, while Reform are using their newfound funding to scale up their operation.
We need to build strong financial foundations if we’re going to square up to both these threats and there is absolutely no time to lose.
Because our first big challenge is just three months away. With four metro mayors and thousands of councillors up for grabs in May’s elections, we cannot be complacent. It’s on us to take the fight to Badenoch and Farage on the doorstep, on the airwaves and online.
To do it, we must rebuild our election fund. If everyone receiving this email donated just £3 today we’d have the resources to power our campaigns for the rest of the year.
Unfortunately, not everyone gives. So we’re counting on those who understand how crucial fundraising drives like this one are to chip in today.
Our average donation is around £23. Some give more, some give less. All that matters is you are helping us start strong this year.
Please use this link to contribute to our election fund today. Some people give £3, others give £23 and some give more. All that matters is you are helping to make sure that Labour is still a campaigning force to be reckoned with:
Thank you in advance for being a part of Team Labour and chipping in today.

Ah yes, because asking for donations is the same as giving £40m to your pub landlord and pal.

They're all as bad as each other!!!1!

(by the way Malc, that extract you've copied and pasted includes your email address (and name), might want to edit that 👍🏻)

Of course not, I was giving 99% of SBT an opportunity to donate.

I wonder how much the rail unions have donated in the past though, for which their membership have been richly rewarded.

The point I was trying to make is that Labour have mates they reward just like the Tories do. How these “friendships”arise may be different, but the outcome in terms of reward may be similar. In rail unions case, it is not reward to an individual but to the membership of that union.

I do still wonder what Lord Ali was sniffing around Starmer for though.

The train drivers deal will cost over 50% more per year than the £40 m you seem outraged about.

I have told you many times, the government does not pay for the train drivers' pay rise. It is merely giving approval to the franchiser. It was wrong that the Conservative government blocked the train operating companies from negotiating with ASLEF in the first place.

I can't believe you're trying to compare a pay rise for train drivers to literally giving a mate a £40 contract as if they're the same thing 😅

Actually I can believe it!

The ASLEF pay deal stated as having compounded at 15% over the period from 2022 to 2025:

CPIH was 9.2% in the 12 months until Dec 2022
4.0% in the 12 months until Dec 2023
3.5% in the 12 months until December 2024

The generous pay offer is therefore below inflation and is a pay cut. Stop moaning Malcolm.
