You can't state that as fact.
The clubs below us are in abysmal form. That's how we went above them and stayed above them. Hamer is Fooked. Enjoyed life too much to last a whole season. Sheffield United can't cope without him. They have lost 4 out of their last 5 games.
Let's ignore the next games. Because whatever happens a win against Middlesbrough puts us above them. Even a fairytale would struggle to put another side above us without playing the Luton game.
Too many people are worrying about our next game. But no matter what happens at best we've either secured our playoff place but at worse have to beat Middlesbrough at home and Millwall not win at Burnley who are after a record of 33 games unbeaten whilst trying to get the better of Leeds.
Some people need to relax. This game against Luton is the least important game we have left of the season. If you're off the meter now there's a good chance you won't survive until it's all over.
I think tomorrow's game is very, very important, myself. The outcome could change everything.
What we want to avoid if at all possible is the situation where we HAVE to beat Middlesbrough. With that will come so much pressure.
And it only takes a sending off, a fluke cross that ends up in the net, a dodgy penalty, an unlucky deflection, an offside goal that's not called etc.
These things happen.
Also, it does matter tomorrow, because if we lose, that will be two games in a row we have lost and to the bottom 2 sides in the division. That's very poor and it's not going to do confidence and morale any good at all, is it. Also, a defeat coupled with a Boro win and we are out of the playoff positions. We don't want that to happen at all
A draw tomorrow would be so very helpful. A win and it's all over I think.
If we lose tomorrow, then we will have made it very tough for ourselves.
I am pretty confident we will get something out of this game, because we need a reaction from the Plymouth match.
