Which pub!?
I am in a very average looking pub and I've just been charged £5.50 for 1 pint!
Pub is packed as well.
The Farmhouse? Stopped on way home from work. It's more expensive than the Village - I went here as I thought it would be cheaper!
Are you being served by a hostess or are there pole dancers. ?
Just seen your second post
Rightward. ;-)!

Ahh ha!! My plan worked. i told them as soon as they saw you walk through the door to charge you double!!
Nope some miserable looking bloke. It's Peroni but seriously.
Haven't been there for a while food was ok last time nothing amazing despite decent reviews.
Yeah, I can blame Daz for putting it up on GMK I went, and was underwhelmed.
OK, but... OK.
That's not quite true, there are plenty of decent food and drink runs around CV1, not if you want Michelin star but decent enough. One we do is drinks in the Old Windmill, Gatehouse, Town Wall Tavern and steaks at 'Artisan' all a short walk from each other with a quality car park on site.Cov's dire for decent food and drink places in any sort of close proximity, got an old travelling buddy coming up from the West Country next weekend with his fiancé trying to decide where to go I've given up on Cov & opted for a night out over in Kenilworth instead.

No mate, if you are driving you park at Belgrade Plaza car park just off the inner ring road which is safe and monitored and all those places are a short walk from there. All pubs have decent real ale at good prices { The Old Windmill is on Spon St which is quite impressive for visitors } and the restaurant does a fabulous steak in a nice enough setting with good service.
Another option we sometimes take is the Phoenix pub on Gosford St by the university { Just spent £270,000 on that one }, followed by a walk up past the cathedral to 'The Establishment' which is another fancy bar in the old Court room and then for dinner and with a bit more historical stuff you could walk over by the old grammar school and priory ruins to Priory square and eat at The PGR restaurant which is on an Italian theme and well decked out with nice views.

Kenilworth is far better for eating out and is a far more relaxed and enjoyable experience. Also more choice incredibly.
More choice in Kenilworth to eat? You sure about that? I can't believe that at all. 47 new eating establishments have opened up in the last year alone.
How many times have you eaten out in Kenilworth?
3 times I would say in the last 2 years.
Well it has two Indian restaraunts that offer vastly superior food to any I've tried in Coventry, a Pizza chain that is a superior demographic to those in Coventry, a gastro pub that is pricey but hands down better than Coventry, a Thai, a steakhouse, a Mediterranean that is excellent, a Chinese (never tried) and a wine bar just opening. There are others on the high street as well.
It's a far superior dining experience than anywhere I've tried in Coventry. Coventry is cheap and cheerful - inside the ring road I cannot think of one decent eating establishment. We were recommended an Indian around the Radisson / Butts area - it was expensive and distinctly average.

Ridiculous that somewhere as small as Kenilworth has 8 curry houses all in view of each other near enough, but a big fan of the other options, zizzi's, ego, even Subway in Kenilworth offers the sweetcorn with the salad option unlike Cov!
