    Other clubs getting bitter...

At the Stevenage game I sat just behind the City dugout in the little main stand. & had a very good view of the City bench, Robins & co. They do moan at the 4th official constantly. A few of them. Borders on attempted intimidation. So I guess this is the kind of thing that the MK manager is...

    Now is the time.....

Standupforcity, don't hold your breath my friend. You are in a strange place here. Excuse after excuse, Cityforever and all that- half of them don't go. That's pointed at the locals by the way. 'Regulars' who don't go to all the games, that's a new one. The baloney of fans who only go to away...

Attendance for the 2 Preston Games?

Smiley, no it was 1967. We finished 3rd in 1966. No playoffs in those days sadly. The Preston game was played on a near frozen pitch. A bit like the time we played Blackburn in the snow, remember? (Shearer & Co) & mullered them 5-0. & they didn't want to play. Chris Whyte played a blinder. When...

Attendance for the 2 Preston Games?

Preston North End at home January 1966 - City win 5-1. Attendance 26,818. It was snowing. The shopping Saturday before Christmas at home to Huddersfield, attendance 27,735. (unfortunately we lost). It so saddens me how supporters have deserted their club. Scratching around for 12,000, oh dear.

    The Missing 20,000 Fans

Valiant, you don't go, as you so often say, and you pour scorn on the club at every turn, so your opinion doesn't matter to me. I'll listen to Macca (though he is a smug sod at times and can't resist the dig) because he goes now and then. Astute, guess you are taking the mick but even so...

    The Missing 20,000 Fans

"I welcome anybody who goes through the gate at any point. That's the difference." Says Macca. On the contrary Macca, so do I. That's my whole point but you are ignoring that. Don't look down on anyone, but I will criticise stay away fans who moan about the club (that's generally, nothing...

    The Missing 20,000 Fans

Gary, obviously you're not much into support then? "The idea that people would pay good money to see a club lose every week just to show 'support' is absurd,..." What Shangri-la is that Macca? I'd like a lot more people to attend City matches, just like you. They don't, that's my point. They...

    The Missing 20,000 Fans

Brighton, we've had ever diminishing support since about 1975. To me that says it all. Coinciding with the gradual decline. It has been downhill ever since, with one terrific exception. No fans, no money, no better players. It ain't rocket science. Locals who CHOOSE to not support their club are...

    The Missing 20,000 Fans

Backroom is so right. All the pathetic excuses just keep getting rolled out and of course the future of the club is so important to them they come out with the sarcasm, put downs and taking the mick. How the club do, nothing to do with them, (even though they have the nerve to call themselves...

    City can't affor mcgoldrick's wages

Rupert Bear is right (how weird it feels typing that) - with so few Coventry people supporting their team what do they expect? The Coventry football public don't seem to understand the role they have in making the club better. If you don't turn up don't bleat.

For those who want another film clip.here it is

Brief clip of City away at Huddersfield. May 7th, 1966. Gould & Pointer scoring. 24,997 at game. Corners by the recently departed Ernie Machin and Bobby Gould causing trouble for the opposition and Ray Pointer driving home. Gouldie should have stayed with City. He would have scored a lot of...

    Away support V Home Support

Elephant ears, the away support thing is a myth put about. The numbers are often very poor considering the size of Coventry, some much smaller towns have bigger followings. Also the away support 'experience' is fine if you are about 25/30, like drinking and pie eating and abusing your own...

    headless players

Cov1987, understand your frustration but there have always been players who fans thought didn't sweat enough in any era. Thirty years ago? Peter Bodak, Jim Melrose, Gerry Daly etc. All good footballers on their day, but a lot of the time fans gave horrendous flak to. And peanuts, they were...
