Can't see that happening.

Who was he, just some random GP or someone in SAGE etc?

Il be honest I didn't catch his title, just that he was a doctor .. but I really hope that isn't a part of government thinking .

Some doctor on the radio then saying we should be concerned about opening up on 21st June because of the backlog of NON covid related treatments?

Therefore essentially wanting restrictions in place until the backlog is cleared, just incase covid cases rise alongside it .. yea that will go down well with the people I'm sure.

Not

Heard the same. Can’t remember the title of the chap but he doesn’t/won’t have any authority. The suggestion is bizarre.

Does make sense but we open up too fast and shut down too slow. That’s the mantra.

don’t see how anyone can say we are opening up fast we’ll have done 70 million jabs by June 21

Easy for them to say

Bit early for that. Michie loves a lockdown though. Ive got no issue with people saying that we have to see whether the chain/link between cases and hospitalisations has been broken by the vaccination programme and if it hasn’t been sufficiently, then the 21 June should be delayed....but calling it now ?!! Shows an already skewed view in my eyes

This weeks data will probably be key to the decision. Let’s just hope things remain under control

So as I understand it , delaying the next stage means that things will just stay as they are now ?

Let's be honest , they are going to delay it .

Do we have any data on how many people have died who have been fully vaccinated and who have contracted the virus

Do we have any data on how many people have died who have been fully vaccinated and who have contracted the virus

113 out of 52,000 in a study and most were in the 80 plus bracket

saw that two in Bolton area has unfortunately passed (not sure of age, pre existing conditions etc though)

Very sad .

We are however in a fortunate position with this vaccine where it has an extremely high success rate as opposed to the flu jab , which is successful but much less so, we still lose thousands a year even with a vaccine .

I made the point the other day that we will have to get to the point where there is an acceptable amount of deaths before there is a huge concern .

On average 43 die a day with flu (with vaccines )

So we need to get to a point where we understand what the covid 19 normal will be

You're a clever lad , do the quick match for me...what percentage is that please , genuine question (not being sarcastic just shit at math )

Also it’s believed some contracted in before the 3 week period the vaccine takes full effect

There is still a worrying attitude towards people going back to normal activities (legally , can't believe I'm saying that )
Take yesterday and people going to the beach as an example , there are people still having digs at them on the socials

How likely is it that by September I’d be able to visit without having to quarantine if I’ve been fully vaccinated?
