Are you saying though that this is all about the government and the scientists are in on this political conspiracy too?
If so, without wanting to get into a(nother) row, there are plenty of other places also concerned about this new variant. How does that stack up, are they all wrong?

Again, who has said it's all a massive conspiracy? I'm by no means saying it's made up and people want to put Microships in us.
It's not a conspiracy to point out who particular people (the media, doom mongers, MPs with fingers in pies) benefit from the bad news and get your vaccine now.
Again, if somebody had said Matt Hancock's buddy was involved with a random PPE contract awarded it would have been "a conspiracy".
Christ, you get labelled as "conspiracy" for pointing out that it was said somebody died WITH this variant and not FROM it.

My inital response, btw, was that not having a Doctorate can indeed be a valid reason to shut people down. I, for example, have a doctorate, but you should be afraid, very afraid, if I'm ever in a position to advise government on medical policy and strategy(!)
In this instance, however, working for Moderna changes things somewhat, as does having a hand in developing their vaccine...
As ever, it's consensus that's the main thing to look for however. In this instance, serendipity says they back up what I said earlier about there still being a certain protection against serious disease after two jabs so, in that respect, they're very wise indeed...

Mostly the complaint I hear is that the science against vaccination is somehow being suppressed, but when you dig into that there isn't much evidence. This looks more like a spat than some sort of conspiracy. Or am I missing something?

People were also being called conspiracy theorists for suggesting a long time ago they'd have covid passes etc and would treat unvaccinated differently ... way before it began to happen.

No mate, what I'm saying is that it isn't helpful to suggest that it's all some kind of myth driven by the media and government.
That just gives oxygen to the lunatics spouting the anti-vax rubbish, and the selfish who can justify all of their other crap behaviour.
That seemed to be where you were going with this, which seemed odd.
However pure the government's motives were in their timing, would anyone dispute that we'd all benefit from more people getting vaccinated and maybe being a bit more careful?

I pointed out earlier that the media were spinning things and showed exactly how they were. Now look exactly how it is being pushed. It is scare mongering.

They certainly want to sell papers and get clicks, but then if there's a substantial proportion of the population resistant to vaccination and/or masks in the face of all of the evidence, then maybe a little fear isn't misplaced.
Is that scare-mongering, I don't know.

It isn't me misinterpreting though? You took something that said somebody died with Omicron and turned that into proof of how dangerous it is without anything to actually say it caused them to die.
I think the constant desperation to be scared is wearing you down more than anything.
As I said, it looks like it works both ways with extremes at either end of the scale. Some won't be leaving the house and others will be spitting into each others mouths on Tiktok to show how COVID isn't a thing.
