Another person looking for an argument I see. Why not ask those on here about their thoughts? There were plenty at the time.Who were the better candidates?
Obviously Johnson is in charge because we need a token white male Oxbridge educated upper class elite somewhere...Yeah. Could do with trying a gay woman I suppose.
Are you saying you think we always have the best stand for election?
That needs a question gosh. So you dealt with it by letting everyone going free lolUK detention centres 'emptied in weeks'
A large number of people held in UK immigration detention centres have been released.
PPE gowns bought for NHS from Turkey unusable
The PPE we ordered from Turkey and then had to go and pick up is now sat in a warehouse because it isn't up to standard.
This is a fucking joke.
Who were the better candidates?
I'll never forgive her for what she did.
I honestly think that was enough to make the leave vote win.
They hadn't even been ordered at the point the government were saying it was on its way here in their daily briefing. No way after that they couldn't order it, probably hoped nobody would find out it was sat in a warehouse and of no use.Does nobody from the NHS or whoever is ordering them think to double check first?
Double edged sword as it seems the local alternatives were people on the council and we all know what they're like!Try in Coventry for starters. Someone shipped in. And what do you think I meant by minorities?
Does that make her a bad leader of Germany?
Genuine question: what did she do?
That needs a question gosh. So you dealt with it by letting everyone going free lol
Raises some good points. The knock on effects could be huge, both politically and economically. As May points out there is a risk nationalism and isolationism could rise further and have long term damaging effects globally. .
If they can ship someone in as bad as Sultana they should be able to find someone decent to bring in.Double edged sword as it seems the local alternatives were people on the council and we all know what they're like!
Not looking for an argument, you made a lazy remark with seemingly no evidence to back it up. On a forum that is likely to get challenged.Another person looking for an argument I see. Why not ask those on here about their thoughts? There were plenty at the time.
The best we could find?
Labour candidate sorry for 'celebrate deaths' post
You really are a whining bitch
Think it was done directly by a government desperate for a headline. Still, it’s not like we had an RAF plane sat on a Turkish runway for three days waiting for the order to be completed putting pressure on getting the order ready so processes were missed meaning that the quality were inferior. Imagine what they would have looked like if they’d got them ready for the day that the government was saying that they were initially being picked up, I doubt they’d have made the journey back. The other reality was that the quantity didn’t even amount to one full shifts worth for every health care professional that required them. Just another pointless headline from a headline government.Does nobody from the NHS or whoever is ordering them think to double check first?
Sultana not evidence? Do you live in Coventry? I don't but know all about her. No lazy remark there. Not looking for an argument, you made a lazy remark with seemingly no evidence to back it up. On a forum that is likely to get challenged.

Good article. Be interesting to see Germanys stats when they are eventually released. There number of deaths does seem incredibly low no matter how well they've managed the situation.
Our official figures at 71% of excess deaths suggests we've done reasonably well at recording the mortality rate compared to a lot of countries.
Fair enough.most of the alternatives to be fair. Sultana was shipped in because she was a Corbynite though, not because she was an Asian woman. It wasn’t an AWS AFAIK.
Yeah that's true. Lots of rumours Blair jnr was being lined up for Robinson's seat back in the day. Coventry's always been a target to parachute in candidates, as it's pretty safe as they go. I don't like that kind of thing as it leads to people who maybe don't have an affinity for the local area, but it's been on the cards be they white, male, african, asian, and all the colours of LGBTQ+Except as I’ve stated Sultana wasn’t the beneficiary of positive discrimination, just good old fashioned jobs for the boys politics.
She clearly went about it the wrong way but when you say that she’s changed the long term future for the whole continent you seem to be defaulting to assuming that it’s for the worst.Open the borders up.
I get that it was supposed to be a humanitarian action, but it was not thought through at all. The consequences of such reckless action, has in my opinion, changed the long term future of the whole continent.

In his defence, I was assuming he meant in terms of giving ammunition to people with dubious views such as Farage. She clearly went about it the wrong way but when you say that she’s changed the long term future for the whole continent you seem to be defaulting to assuming that it’s for the worst.

While there is no doubt the tories are atrocious, they keep winning elections.
Not all of the electorate are stupid, and they keep rejecting labour as somehow even worse that the tories.
If there were some genuine decent opposition I'm sure they would get voted for.
The problem is politics were much better when it was those who served the best got elected. Once the question was asked on why were most MP's white males it suddenly changed. That meant that if the best candidate was a white male it could go elsewhere. No problem of gender, race, sexual orientation or whatever being chosen as long as it is the best person fir the job. But isn't it strange that the big change in the type of MP we have also coincided with the massive downgrade in quality of MP's we now have.Except as I’ve stated Sultana wasn’t the beneficiary of positive discrimination, just good old fashioned jobs for the boys politics.

Despite that, and despite it making the election results closer than they maybe should have been, as far as I can tell, both the new MPs are not doing too bad a job at all at being a local MP. Time will tell if they keep that up, of course.
