Look at post above yours.
What you are quoting will soon be out of date so is irrelevant. From Wednesday he said we would be able "to drive to other destinations". Whatever the f**k that means.

I don’t know. And that’s the point really. Posting old info won’t change that. We’ll find out more tomorrow.

As for, was it one person, saying we couldn’t travel short distances to exercise before. They were incorrect.
Yes they were but he still argued the toss. Same day as ever on this thread.

Boris said same restrictions on travel. Will consider changes when we reach level 3.

Isn't it amazing how sime people only hear what they want to hear.

What are you on about?
People in England can travel to.other destinations.
Those are Johnson's words. How do you interpret them?
LOL.

So you don't travel to a different location than you are in when you travel? Do you stay where you are when you travel?

Nothing has changed.
If nothing has changed why has Johnson made an announcement about it?

At present you're allowed to drive for exercise and the police have been told to operate on the principle that the time exercising has to be longer than the time driving.

By making an announcement that you can now drive to other destinations the implication is you can drive further than the local park.
BBC said:
Johnson said in addition to being able to leave home as many times as they wish for exercise or to sunbathe in parks, people in England would also be able to drive to other destinations.

Not sure how his image can decline any further, it went past rock bottom long ago. What the f**k did we do to deserve this moron and his cronies/sycophants to be in charge when strong and effective leadership is needed?

Because too many people were taken in by slogans, personality and rhetoric feeding into their fears and prejudices. For a lot of people they're reaping what they have sowed. Unfortunately the rest of us are suffering from this scorched earth policy.

So you was wrong?

And you are happy to be wrong again?

Yes but only short distances and a good reason. Is this too difficult to understand?

I have learned one thing tonight. I now understand why people are so thick when they do their own thing when all the information is out there.

LOL.

So you don't travel to a different location than you are in when you travel? Do you stay where you are when you travel?

So why didn't he just say travel guidelines are the same essential travel only.
Why has that changed to people in England can now travel to other destinations?

So what your saying is that the diplomat has a point?

You just don't like it so try to make it all about the comment about Hitler. Yes, slightly distasteful, but the essence of it is correct.

Is Merkel trying to make her country prosperous equivalent to an attempted takeover of the continent?

It says 'travel to other destinations' no mention of only short distances.

Don't worry I give up. Carry on making up your own stories. I am out.

Johnson's dad has expressed that opinion on more than one occasion

I have a sneaking suspicion his son feels exactly the same

Remember Stanley sneeringly saying that he doubted most of the working class couldn't even spell Pinocchio. They consider average people an underclass who're effectively a sub-species. It's common throughout that class. If this was 200 years ago he'd still be all for slavery and restricting the vote.

Just seen a useful summary of tonight's speech so I thought I'd copy it here to help everyone understand:

Stay alert. If not staying home. Stay home if not being alert. Go to work. If not working at home. Work from home if possible. If not working from home don't use public transport to get to work. Even though public transport is available. At work do work. Safely. In a socially distanced manner. Where possible. If not possible do some other thing. Don't work at work if work is closed which lots of work is because work isn't reopening if work is one of the places of work we were told to close. After work play sport and sunbathe but only with people you live with not people you work with. Unless you live with someone you work with. Or work with someone you live with. Stay alert for the alert system which will wave about madly on a dial between green and red where red means everyone is dead. If you are sufficiently alert you might be allowed to be less alert after the 1st of June. But likely everyone will go mad on Wednesday and the needle will lurch to orange so being alert will revert to stay home and it's back to March 23rd. So, stay home. No, hang on, stay alert. Not home. But you should stay home. Unless you're at work.

Not really.
What I've said is correct (I think) given the ambiguity.
If the travel message is the same, previously essential travel only, why has he said people in England can travel to other destinations?

The social distancing message is the same and that hadn't been changed

Wait till next weekend when the sun comes out
Let's see if people got the message.

Did you read the rules I put up?

You can also carry on making up your own stories as you usually do.
They will be updated come Wednesday to clarify exactly what this ambiguity means. Personally I'm guessing it will be a tweak that allows MP's to travel to their second homes.
Nice insult. Cut me to the bone.

No, I'm not wrong. The debate is about what can happen from Wednesday onwards, not what we can do today, tomorrow or Tuesday. The PM clearly stated that from Wednesday we can "drive to other destinations". In the absence of any further definition we can all interpret "other destinations" in any way we wish. And obviously the police can no longer stop anybody under the CV regulations (as long as we are driving in England, of course).
