Good to hear things are looking a bit better for you.Back everyone, just needed a break for a bit but things are all good now back to work the first week of November! Thanks everyone anyway
Back mate hope you are well
Do you not think that the ‘reduced’ deaths is due to the actions around the wearing of masks, social distancing and other actions where people indoors are generally more spaced out, that we’re not embedded as normal practice in April and May.And deaths still, 4 weeks or more into the second wave, are minimal. 77 deaths today. Every death is a tragedy of course. But how many people died from cancer today? Suicide? Alzheimers?
And yes you will say 'you cant catch cancer', no you cant but when the knock on effect of this is now becoming worse than the virus.
See attached
We cannot shut down the country for something 80 odd percent of people dont even know they have, based on worry it might mutate.
What do you think will happen to those with cancer, alzheimers etc if things are opened up and the NHS rapidly becomes overwhelmed? And deaths still, 4 weeks or more into the second wave, are minimal. 77 deaths today. People seem to have quickly forgotten the footage from a few months ago in places like New York showing bodies being piled up in refrigerated trucks and rotting corpses in overwhelmed funeral homes. They are already moving all non-covid patients out of hospitals in Paris as they struggle to cope with the increasing hospitalisations.
Nothing, they have no staff and are not fit for much beyond providing bed spaceWhat are we using the Nightingale hospitals for at the moment?
The mindset of the people who question what "the real truth" is and think its all a scam to control them is nuts
He's just teyna stir shit up, they have the army out because if not they would be sat on their asses doing nothing.Fucking hell, dickheads like him are fucking idiots.
D'Ancona another arse hole hack who rubbished the opposition back in December.Only half way through this, it’s a long old read, but absolutely fascinating and terrifying in equal measures. Just arrogance and fuck ups as far as the eye can see.
Hancock is GREAT - Tortoise
There’s Matt Hancock, cheerily welcoming to you his new smartphone app, way back in February 2018. How long ago that seems. He’d just been appointed Culture Secretary. Theresa May was still in Number Ten, still battling to sort out Brexit and – we foolishly thought – as bad a Conservative Prime...members.tortoisemedia.com

He’s worse than the Tory hacks who at least fully and wholeheartedly believe their methods are the right ones. A handwringing twat only interested in keeping his own powder dry.D'Ancona another arse hole hack who rubbished the opposition back in December.

Why is all of the focus on shutting pubs when the majority is students?
t's said only 20% are isolating.
This is good news at face value at least. Will be interesting to see more details of this as they become available.Employees who work for UK firms forced to shut by law because of coronavirus restrictions will get two-thirds of their wages paid for by the government.
Chancellor Rishi Sunak said it was an "expansion" of the Job Support Scheme, which begins on 1 November and will be available for six months.

The one thing I would say for shutting pubs is that it probably switches something in people’s minds. Lots of “if pubs are open why can’t I do X?” Type questions at the moment.
The student thing is funny. They can’t exactly go back on it now as you’re just getting a bunch of people infected then sending them round the country. They never should’ve opened them in the first place but the landlords wouldn’t have been happy.
Aren't some unis doing their own testing? If they're testing everyone then its not a surprise the numbers have shot up as we know there's loads of people who get it and don't show symptoms so would never normally get a test. How much has testing increased by?
Yeah you cant send them back now, so they need to all be locked up.
Not sure why pubs are the scapegoat when infections are happening a lot more elsewhere.

Sweden's minister for Higher Education said:If you go to a party and get infected, you put those close to you [at risk]. Your friends, your professor, the staff at your local supermarket, the person next to you in the library,
the government are saying 30% of cases are down to pubs and restaurants, hardly scapegoating if true.

Im sure I saw something about 4% and about 30 odd percent were students?
It might have been old figures then.
The point being, there's been a lot of talk, on this board and elsewhere, about just let students get it as they won't be affected. That isn't just parties though is it?
Especially if you are still coming into contact with your friends, professor, people in the library and people in shops.
