Genuine question now, Is it possible to be pro Palestine but not anti semetic. Not having a dig just genuinely curious

What do you mean by pro Palestine? What do you want to happen to Israel? What do you think Palestinians should have ?

Palestine and Israel are not the same , Jews have ties to that land as far back as 3700 years

It should be. You should be able to make legitimate criticisms of the Israeli government and their behaviour without you being accused of being an anti-semite.

And against Zionism. I believe, even though the IHRA definition equates Zionism with anti-semitism.

It would be difficult to go back to 45 when land was taken off the Palestinians, let alone go back 3700 years. Compromises required, not the rights of one people.

Do you believe there can ever be a peaceful solution ? Arab countries surrounding Israel want its destruction...they beat them all in 6 days in war , they are always going to be a target

It seems there is some debate about that inflatable. It looks like an Arab sheikh stereotype to me.
"At the Hyde Park march, a giant inflatable puppet dressed like an Arab with horns and a hooked nose led to some confusion. Some interpreted it as an antisemitic reference to Jews, but others concluded it was a caricature of Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi, capital of the United Arab Emirates, one of several Arab nations to establish diplomatic relations with Israel last year."

Interesting, sounds plausible.

I think that's the case, yes, it's an unsolvable situation due to irreconcilable belief systems. It's often said that religious war is a proxy war for land and resources, but I think it's simpler than that at the heart of things, the Abrahamic religions, who seem destined to end this Earth of ours.

Got to be honest appeared Arabic to me .
Was the same with the mural Corbyn liked or retweeted , there didn't appear anything obvious making those banker's Jewish.
Just looked like a bunch of banker's to me when I saw .
Can't remember if he should have known for some reason, like it had up for some time and may have caused controversy earlier?

This has been done to death, most here support a 2 state solutions which sees both Palestine and Israel internationally recognised and sovereign.

I get that mate , I just don't think some people realise that infact the Jewish people were basically there first until the Romans came and forced Christianity on the region.
People just automatically assume they've been there since the 40s and that's it

I get that vibe from much of social media

Being on land thousands of years ago doesn't give you the right to evict those who were there in the (then) present day. It isn't really the fault of the Palestinians that they were there at an inconvenient time.

The Romans invaded Palestine about 100 years before Jesus was even born so that’s not even remotely true.
You’re right in that Jewish people have always been there but they lived side by side with Muslims and the whole place was called Palestine. Israel as a state didn’t exist until after the Second World War. Zionism itself is a relatively new idea in the Jewish faith and actually many many Jews are anti Zionist and see the creation of Israel as a direct challenge to god and therefore blasphemy.

Awkward for the Tories here, only group that beats religious Muslims for AS is very right wing people 😬

The Jews are the current owners now

Israelis, not Jews. Conflating the two is antisemitic. And if I rock up with a big gun I’ll be the current owner of my nans old house, doesn’t make it right.
