God, the addiction is hard to break...

I knew somebody from Palestine once. They were one of the more well-off Palestinians, family owned a business and could afford to send him to the UK. He was happy to be friends with people from, wherever really, wasn't particularly politically engaged. However in the background, his family had lost a lot of thir land and property during Israeli occupation.

And then once didn't come back once for months - Israel wouldn't let people out and then shelled where he lived, repeatedly. His family lost everything.

He despised Israel for what they did - he voted Hamas or whatever their political wing is, as what he saw was his land oppressed and colonised by an aggressor, when all his family wanted to do was work a living.

There are many sides to this story.

I agree .

Much like when our regiment were training on phoenix (UAV) In Israel and rockets came over daily .

You've missed completely why they might start voting Hamas, clearly.

Oh well.

Okay 70 years before the birth of Jesus. Bit hard for them to “come and force Christianity on them” when Christianity wasn’t even a thing (clue is in the title). Besides it was centuries after Jesus died before the Romans even adopted Christianity as a faith.

I'm genuinely confused by what are you saying. The Israelites settled the lands 1200 BCE. Subsequent invasions included the Rashidum caliphate come much later.

I'm not sure what Jesus and Christianity has to do with this ether.

I said Christianity was imposed on them during roman rule

No, no point missed at all
There certainly is if you follow with "Nobody who is well rounded votes in a terrorist militia."

Walk a mile in their shoes and understand why they might. In the horrendous black and white world of SBT, I feel compelled to point out that doesn't mean that walking a mile in certain Israeli shoes doesn't come up with a different conclusion but... understand that to many, it is a hope of liberation from oppression. That doesn't make them not well-rounded, that makes them unfortunate enough to be caught in a perspective far more dramatic than Tory v Labour.

One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter. Terrorist militia don’t gain popular support without good reason because you’re absolutely right, you have to be pretty desperate to turn to them.

It's a favourite attic here, ignored what is being argued or subvert it, and then say you've missed the point. It's very boring.
When they have missed the point, it's fair to point out they have missed the point. To consider people not well-rounded for doing something based on their life experience is to perpetuate the problem, that doesn't fix easily, and certainly doesn't unless all perspectives are understood.

Voting for people who actively harm your chances of survival .. is not well rounded sorry

Or stupid , they've actively contributed to thousands of Palestinian deaths

Voted in on a " death to Israel " policy

Or stupid

Easy to say everyone who isn’t you is stupid. Harder to have empathy.

I could say the same about Brexit voters who voted in a violent militant regime that committed the first direct terrorist attack on British democracy in a generation. I mean sure that wasn’t their “political arm”...

Mate , they voted in a terrorist militia ... at what point did they think it wasn't stupid when several Arab nations combined couldn't beat Israel..what did they expect hamas to achieve except more misery

Seriously? EVO recons the Romans arrived and forced a religioun that was yet to be invented on Palestinians 70 years before it was invented and about 400 years after the Romans even recognised it themselves. He’s cracking on like no one else gets the history of the region while clearly not having a clue about the history of the region. If you don’t understand the history of the region, especially something as fundamental as Christianity and the Romans. If he was quoting the life of Brian as fact he’d be closer.

They saw only one group speaking to their concerns and ignored the vile parts of that movement. Like, say, someone willing to vote for a bunch of racists and white supremacists and people who literally killed an MP for their cause because they were the only political grouping speaking for their cause.

Like Britain first ?

Doesn't everybody universally agree their voters are stupid?

I'm sure nigels bank account is absolutely gutted .

I mean how stupid is that 🤣

It's like buying up every Nike trainer in protest against their operations just to not wear them
