It doesn't matter that he said he couldn't see him in a room without much light because the handshake was of more importance.

No. The comment was also made.

Fucking hell 😂

Oh my fucking christ mate.

It was a post pointing out the insanity of somebody else posting something, that nobody agrees is a good thing, that happened 17 years ago to deflect from something, that people are deflecting away from, that's happened today.

If you don't get it you are either incredibly thick or just trolling.

He's thick

"Hey guys I know there was a racism today but if we don't now sit through every bit of recorded racism since Cecil Rhodes set off and condemn that too then you're a a hypocrite.

I'm very smart"

Exactly.

A little secret for you. Racists and racism isn't just the Tories and UKIP. It is everywhere you look. I didn't know the rest of the story. But saying two people look similar isn't racist in itself.

At least we all agree that he shouldn't be in politics.

So are you saying we shouldn't look back at historical racism? Do we have a time cut off? Should statues of racists continue to exist? Should we keep them to help with education? Is a football player OK to have made comments years ago? Or does it depend on your political agenda?

How are you missing the point so spectacularly.

All racism should be condemned. Nobody has defended what Jack Straw said (fair play Grendal this has worked brilliantly).

To bring up historical racism when talking about something that is happening today is deflecting.

Do you get that very simple point?

Ah so I don't understand your last stupid message.

OK.

I am saying that you don't allow a racist to get away with things they've done today by talking about something another racist did in the past.

Pretty easy really.
And what a racist said in the past shouldn't be ignored because more recent racism has happened. It should all be called out.

But when you're talking about a serving politician being racist then bringing up everything else lets them off the hook.

Do you want us to just say all racism from every politician ever is bad no matter what the colour of the rosette then we can go back and discuss the government of today being racist?

Are you trying to get me to agree with what I already agree with?

It wasn't me who tried to say a handshake was more important than the colour of someone's skin.

Not all Tories are racist. Not all Labour are racist. Not all white people are racist. Not all black people are non racist. Anyone who says differently has an agenda.

But saying that the Tory government is racist is saying all Tories are racist. Does this include all black Tory MP's?

They are not fit to govern. But that is a different matter.

One Conservative MP has today been racist.

Why are you doing this?

And I have agreed with this. Try looking back. But it doesn't make everyone involved in the Tory government a racist.

Why are you doing this?

The sudden switch to non-racist is an interesting thing to do. If I were you I'd stop digging.

You've said it's point scoring, it isn't racist, that it hadn't been proven he said it then went on a mad tangent about something else.

Tory. Racist comment most important.

Labour. Handshake most important.

Both racist. Doesn't make either party racist. If it did then if racist comments were made at a game we would all be racist for supporting the same side.

It is considering you had been saying what you said nobody had said 🤔 🤣🤣🤣

Can you please point out where anyone on here has said the Jack Straw incident is either:

A) perfectly fine because he's Labour
B) perfectly fine because of a handshake

Explain yourself for once.
Just find it interesting that you use defensive language for white people, labour and Tories but then switch it for black people. Kind of signals an agenda of your own to me. Not sure where the need for it comes from when the discussion is involving a white Conservative MP demonstrating a lazy racist trope. Open to hearing your reasoning of course.

I bet Clive thinks they do 😊

Finished the Blair & Brown series on bbc last night. well worth a watch for those interested in political documentaries (I’m just trying to pinpoint the exact time when I became a dull c*nt !).

I got confused. Which one was Blair and which one was Brown? Both look the same to me.
