Oh well Boris standing will go up in the county then
Patronising !!!He’s saying over 60% of inflation is due to Brexit even though we are tracking at the same rate broadly as all other countries in Europe - even though our inflation levels have broadly been the same generally as EU countries - 40% is entirely due to
Energy increases so sorry this makes no sense. I think you’ve misunderstood percentage versus percentage points haven’t you?
Patronising !!!
He didn’t no and my comment aboutfood prices was not linked to his attributable figure no
Whatever you wantWell it makes no sense as what he’s saying is without brexit Tory economic policy in terms of inflationary control is the best in the western world in which case Sunak and Johnson are geniuses
Perhaps that’s what his point is?

its hardly going to cross her mind. I guess she just saw the head of public prosecutions - a lantern jawed fellow with Hollywood looks apparently - said nothing to see here so nothing wrong in it.

I mean the Starmer-Savile nonsense has been debunked countless times of course.
I see you’ve swung behind her already, cheer up it’s just a bit of fun. You do wonder why people with political ambitions don’t clean their feed though.
There are pictures of Tony Blair digging a hole with Jimmy Saville. There are delightful pictures of Gordon Brown grinning along with his wife congratulating Sir Saville and laughing with his gong.
Sir Starmer I’m sure if was Mr Brown then would have done the same. Frankly if this is being dug up on twitter Ms Truss must be more of a threat than I thought. I hardly think said tweet is a game changer do you?
His nanny.Who's taken over from Mogg at the Df1800s?

You do raise a good point - that a lot of voters will be taken in by this line of yours even though it’s patently bollocks.its hardly going to cross her mind. I bet she didn’t even pay for it… claimed it back on expenses.

I’m sure you’ll be there though to put the truth out there….
Well, there’s little doubt that the pound would be stronger against the dollar. And if nothing else given oil is traded in USD the price of fuel would certainly be cheaper than it is now.Are you saying if we stayed in the eu our inflation levels would be far lower than any other EU country? Why? It suggests are economic policy within the eu has been vastly superior to every other country? Is that something you agree with?
Germany has 8.1% inflation ours is what 9.2% so you think we’d be at 4.5%? Do you seriously think that’s credible?
It is hard to stay awake when he's talking isn't it.Painful viewing
I agree in a way, you can’t knock someone for changing or altering views over time, in fact it’s what should happen if circumstances or information changes.
It’s whether she truly believes in what she is now saying that I think most people are questioning
It is hard to stay awake when he's talking isn't it.
4 percent of inflation is directly down to brexit. Absolutely disgrace
Not sure how you came to that conclusion. Eurozone inflation in June was 8.1% v UK inflation of 9.4%. That’s a 1.3%
Few things to note:
- UK growth from Q4 in 2019 to Q1 in 2022 is stronger in than Germany, France and Italy
- UK exports to the EU are in a good place and have grown in 2022 to ‘record levels’ according the ONS - it’s imports that have collapsed
- the Eurozone is at a record low with the the USD (likewise with the pound)
- food prices increases as a % is lower than the EU average (Germany and Netherlands)
- French inflation is lower than the UK’s, but their government has responded to the crisis by taking measures to keep prices down (e.g. nationalising EDF) whereas the UK has put more money into welfare system e.g. energy rebates
- there are also realistic fears that the Eurozone is on the verge of another crisis
- Both the German and French economies are in a bad place and on the verge of recession
Undoubtedly, there have been challenges that can be related to Brexit e.g. staff shortages. Even labour shortages is complex, more people in their 50s are retiring early and stuff like that.
The point is, the grass may seem greener elsewhere, but it really isn’t and there’s a tendency to readily blame things on Brexit. It’s a low resolution argument and doesn’t consider wider factors.
There is no such thing as eurozone inflation.
Each country has its own rate, with Frances significantly lower than the other major nations.
And blaming Brexit for everything may be a ''low resolution argument' but so is not admitting its a factor in some of our current troubles.
I agree we need to try and make it work, unfortunately we have a lame duck government full of talentless career politicians whose answer to everything is to start spouting about tax cuts and wokeness
To clarify, ‘Eurozone inflation’ is the average inflation in countries that have adopted the Euro. Inflation is between c.9 and c.11% in the Netherlands and Belgium respectively whilst Estonia’s inflation is an eye watering c.20%.
If the issues are related to poor governance, that’s a totally different thing to Brexit and people need to recognise that.
Brexit really hasn’t been the disaster economically that was predicted. There will be disruption and time period for companies to adapt to the new changes, particularly SMEs.

Dover in absolute chaos, M20 motorway blocked town at a standstill. Perfect storm of shocking government with no pressure planning and Brexit, ruining thousands of peoples holidays after 2 years of shite. Government just blame the French and covid as predicted yet this has been expected for months and months.
Also prevents Europeans coming here and harms the economy. How can the Torys allow us to be effectively become cut off from the continent again. Movement and connections drive our economy yet ferry and channel tunnel have ground to halt. We are a laughing stock.
None of these things should come as a surprise, but to a chaotic Government they do every time. Never mind Liz will sort it all out.Dover in absolute chaos, M20 motorway blocked town at a standstill.
