Get a proper reading. I’m 32, 13.5 stone, certainly carrying more than I should but definitely not properly ‘fat’. My BMR is around 1700 calories - with a fairly sedentary existence this means my maintenance calories are 2000-2050. Get some decent scales and it’ll tell you what your BMR is, then you can work from that.
There’s a lot of other guff in this thread that I wished I had time to address but I’ll leave it for the time being.

Diet would be more significant for weight loss I think. I could train like a maniac but if I eat like shit I will get fatter and feel like shit. There is a saying "you can't out train a bad diet" and it's true. That's not saying exercise isn't important because it is for general health and mental wellbeing.

Exactly that. BadEnoch would just complete the seeming capture of the Tory party by the right-wing culture war loons.
I suspect a rebellion would play out in fairly short order from the slightly more sensible MPs, but who really knows.
Capture from the right of a party and brooking no dissent is becoming a thing, it seems.

Biomass? You can burn as much as you can grow. It’s usually a wheeze to get around carbon emissions or subsidise farmers not a serious energy source tho.
