It will have, but as a 34 year old man my maintenance calories really ought to be around 2500.

Get a proper reading. I’m 32, 13.5 stone, certainly carrying more than I should but definitely not properly ‘fat’. My BMR is around 1700 calories - with a fairly sedentary existence this means my maintenance calories are 2000-2050. Get some decent scales and it’ll tell you what your BMR is, then you can work from that.

There’s a lot of other guff in this thread that I wished I had time to address but I’ll leave it for the time being.

Hi, I voted for the supposed party of organised Labour a few weeks ago. I was wondering when the left wing policies would arrive?

Good evening, they're just tacking to the left now

Really makes you wonder what she is going to do and now she is going to raise funds. Suggestions that the private schools VAT may be delayed to next academic year and that she has been warned of putting flat rate tax relief on pensions.

That being the case we really may as well just have let Rishi Rich have 5 more years.

not sure I agree with ‘much more’ significant
Diet would be more significant for weight loss I think. I could train like a maniac but if I eat like shit I will get fatter and feel like shit. There is a saying "you can't out train a bad diet" and it's true. That's not saying exercise isn't important because it is for general health and mental wellbeing.

She does not need to raise funds to pay for anything, however, she's now going to be hoisted by her own petard for pretending that she does, as I predicted would be the case on here many times over the past few months and years.

I didn’t say she needed to, but she clearly intends to - and as you suggest will look like the arse she is if she doesn’t do so having made such a point of needing to stop the winter fuel allowance because if the supposed black hole.

Look where you like, but I won’t stop pointing out how the supposed most left wing man in Britain has teamed up with the most regressive group of MPs in the house.
He abstained in the vote being discussed according to the article whereas those he "teamed up" with, voted in favour of the motion.

I sometimes wonder what these people are on.

A plan by the British government to burn biomass imported from countries including North Korea and Afghanistan has been described as “bonkers”, with critics saying it undermines the credibility of the UK’s climate strategy.

A bioenergy resource model, published in late summer, calculates that only a big expansion in the import of energy crops and wood from a surprising list of nations would satisfy the UK’s plan to meet net zero.

The government wants biomass to play a “significant role” in decarbonising all sectors of the economy in the years leading up to 2050, and has provided more than £20bn to businesses using it in the power and heat sectors over the past two decades.

Really going for that Reform UK vote.

Is it still down to members? If so Jenrick walks it.

Yeah, members call but sure I saw that Badenoch was polling higher with them.

Cleverly two less votes today than yesterday even though you’d have expected a chunk of Tugenhat votes to go to him. Very strange

there wasn't exactly many 'good' options but how the fuck have they ended up with these two???

maybe things are worse than we thought and they've already decided to deliberately thrown the next election

Wonder if either would even make it to next election

Exactly that. BadEnoch would just complete the seeming capture of the Tory party by the right-wing culture war loons.

I suspect a rebellion would play out in fairly short order from the slightly more sensible MPs, but who really knows.

Capture from the right of a party and brooking no dissent is becoming a thing, it seems.

I think actually Badenoch would be tougher opposition for wet lettuce Starmer than Jenrick, who just has massive IDS vibes

Possibly, although I don't think she's got a filter.

That impulsive nastiness within her, and let's be honest she's an odious person, might be more exposed as leader of the party.

How long does this form of energy last for,as long as there's humanity on the planet I guess ?

Biomass? You can burn as much as you can grow. It’s usually a wheeze to get around carbon emissions or subsidise farmers not a serious energy source tho.

Can someone who knows better tell me if the carbon capture investment thing is better than having more trees? That seems to be the general argument for the respective sides.
