Is it ? We couldn't carry on with Gareth

Whatever this is nobody asked for , we had a good 1st half against Ireland and that's it

People were bemoaning the fact we were too conservative - When in international football you have to be a bit conservative as in the end game you are playing football where you are potentially a defeat away from elimination

We look worryingly open and I don’t think we were all that in the last break other than the first half against Ireland as you said

This is what people wanted tho, they demanded attack minded open football

I think we want something in the middle.

That was shite. Carsley has obviously thought, "hang on, our striker who spends most of his time in centre mid is injured, I know, I will play a centre mid as the striker."

It's all too narrow, no one is stretching play. Saka is often tucked inside, which is fine if you have an overlapping full back bit both fullbacks want to play in centre mid, so there's no width too.

Itv just showing a clip of Trent all the way over in left midfield next to Lewis. There's no structure. In fact most of the chance Greece have had Trent has been nowhere near right back.

You don't have to be conservative though ,Spain for example won the euros playing attacking and so did Italy

Playing a false 9 is fine, if you have lots of runners making runs in behind you, but Foden, Cole, Saka and Gordon want the ball facing goal to run with it

One day England might play to their strengths with entertaining attacking free flowing football.

Cole Palmer in the CDM making a covering tackle as Greece break whilst Lewis and Trent are in the box

Tbh whether you like Southgate or not, there was not a fat lot wrong with what England were doing, granted we probably needed a bit more tactical nous and in game management to get us over the line but we were so close

We just seem to have needlessly ripped that up and gone back to the drawing board when in my opinion we didn’t need to

We were shite IMHO, I get you went to watch them but he just had no clue how to win big matches in general .
The holland game was the only outlier there in a tournament where we were fucking woeful

Anyway he's gone

He got us to two finals - Hence why we didn’t need to go back to the drawing board and as I said, we just needed a bit more tactical know how to get us over the line as opposed to completely ripping up the system

A lot of luck ,.we couldn't carry on playing like that , we should have been beaten well before the final in the last tournament .

No top sides play like England and win things

You don’t get to finals on luck

Should have gone all in for Tuchel or Poch but our fans and press wouldn’t have ever took to them cause of two wars that happened last century

We are so fucking narrow and have nothing upfront. Again Palmer and Foden having to make tackles deep to stop a counter attack, when the 2 full backs are virtually up front.
