If he plays with walker behind him then there's no issues imosomeone on the Guardian Football Pod made a good point, it's all well and good him coming on spraying passes around against poor teams but he's likely to struggle with the positional and defensive side of being a midfielder
with the amount of left forwards who run off the back of him when he is playing RB can you imagine him trying to track a quality midfielder100%.

There's loads of issues, walker will have his own player and if he is playing in midfield he isn't always going to be stood just in front of a right back. He's going to have to track across the pitch. If he plays with walker behind him then there's no issues imo
So when he looses his man and he's suddenly free in the box that's not critical?I can see their point certainly, but I'd say that it's less critical than if he were playing in his old position, because at least in midfield he's got people behind him to cover him when he does get it wrong.
You not feel like he's played well ?So when he looses his man and he's suddenly free in the box that's not critical?
He's doesn't play midfield for a reason
He had zero pressure on the ball in possession in these two games, completely different against top tier sides who are going to press and set traps, and then in possession move the ball quickly and make runs off the back of him. There's loads of issues, walker will have his own player and if he is playing in midfield he isn't always going to be stood just in front of a right back. He's going to have to track across the pitch.
He's played well against a woeful team where he has time and space and there's a very big difference between playing as an inverted fullback who stands in midfield when liverpool have the ball but moves back to RB when they don't and being an international class 10You not feel like he's played well ?
Played fantastic for Liverpool later stages of the season when klopp gave him the new role too .
In all fairness , he got a ton of assists when he pushed into midfield in the Premier leagueHe's played well against a woeful team where he has time and space and there's a very big difference between playing as an inverted fullback who stands in midfield when liverpool have the ball but moves back to RB when they don't and being an international class 10
Well yes jude bellingham will start for England, there's plenty of opportunity to introduce trent into a midfield 3 still . These games are definitely worth trying things ..it'll be a very different game for him if he plays in midfield against say France, Germany, Spain etc where even before you have even touched the ball you have been closed down
almost anyway the person who is actually going to play the big games in his position is Jude Fucking Bellingham
Like I said I think England have been an enjoyable watch tonightWhilst I agree North Macedonia aren't world beaters, they aren't a bad side. Knocked Italy out of the world cup, beat Germany too. This will be a record defeat for them.
They are a bad side, 2 freak results don't change thatWhilst I agree North Macedonia aren't world beaters, they aren't a bad side. Knocked Italy out of the world cup, beat Germany too. This will be a record defeat for them.
Madness that we have also brought the quality of players such as Grealish, Foden etc. off the bench.Enjoyable watch England are tonight , usually boring even against shite .
Have a swagger about them

Regardless, they have been absolutely woeful today, Malta looked a much better side.Whilst I agree North Macedonia aren't world beaters, they aren't a bad side. Knocked Italy out of the world cup, beat Germany too. This will be a record defeat for them.
No he hasn't, he's been playing as an inverted fullback for liverpool. He's still defensively a right back for themIt's worked well, don't really see the issue. He's been playing a similar role for Liverpool too.
I don't mind being wrong about it , enjoyed watching him last couple games .. if he never plays in midfield again for England it won't mean anything to me .. but he's played well fair play to the ladanyway, if you think TAA can play in a midfield 3 against a good team then ok you are in for a shock
That's my last comment on this, I'll let you be wrong in peace
Not sure we can judge either way. He's got the talent to be able to do it, but needs to learn the position.anyway, if you think TAA can play in a midfield 3 against a good team then ok you are in for a shock

Indeed they did, but for me the doubt still remains about our set up against the better teams.Enjoyable watch England are tonight , usually boring even against shite .

They’re not a bad team. Mid tier side now. Similar level to Greece, Ukraine, Sweden etc. Impressive we can rip them apart like that. Saka was sensational and has been superb for a couple of years. 12/12. Things are looking good. Been a top few days. Can’t wait for September. GSTKNorth Macedonia’s biggest defeat. And still time for more.
This isn't a football fixture it's a fucking holiday destination.Jodi Jones playing for Malta against England
Boosh I think didn’t like himAnyone who still has doubts over how good a player Saka is needs their head looking at.
TAA is a good tool to have, he could be the one to unlock those stubborn defences England have struggled against in previous tournaments.
We can play more defensive against the bigger teams.
Ostigard? No prizes for guessing who scored 2 goals in 4 minutes for Norway.
Try Again still no prizes.Ostigard?
