Annoying if getting at least 500k and harries going that we wont spend 250k on collins
We'll worry about whether or not he's good enough for league 1 when we get there.Very short sighted opinions , would rather further about the 500k and keep a player with potential than spend it on an already journeyman like Collins who isn't good enough for L1

James CCFC first of all you would do well to get 500k at present and as for more "James Collins" out there name anyone available at the same price who has scored 1 in 3 in division 2.
Would hope for one of them if we miss out on Collins. I feel we have to get in a proven league 2 goal scorer or we'll come just short this year. Encouraging that Robins can go for these types of players though. Shows that he can afford to bring in a 20 goal strikerThe figure of 500K was relative to the previous posts. Personally agree with you and believe it would be optimistic to think we'd receive such a sum. I think we'd do well to touch 250K but don't manage compensation fees.
As for asking me to name players we'd be able to bring in that isn't difficult. Just look at the League Two top scorers last season. For instance, John Akinde, Matt Godden, David Wheeler. All three play for clubs that are unlikely to turn away from a six-figure bid. All average around 1 in 3, with the exception of Akinde, who's ratio was closer to 1 in 2. Wouldn't say they are any better or worse players than Collins, therefore you would assume their respective clubs wouldn't ask for a fee beyond Luton's reported bid.
Matthew Godden is coming into the last year of his contract. David Wheeler's contract was undisclosed but it seems to me that it expires this summer. I would say that qualifies as available, wouldn't you?
McNulty scored 11 in 29 when he last played in league two.Would hope for one of them if we miss out on Collins. McNulty will be great up front with someone else. He needs someone proven to work with.McNulty scored 11 in 29 when he last played in league two.
Last I heard Stevenage were on about they wanted 1 million for Godden. He would be out of reach. The figure of 500K was relative to the previous posts. Akinde and Godden would cost more than Collins in my opinion and we wouldn't even match Luton's offer so cant see us paying more for those 2 as for Wheeler his average is only about 1 in 4 or 10 goals a season not enough for what we need. The first 2 will surely be offered good contracts( Something we find hard to do if reports are right ).Good goal scorers are hard too come by
George Thomas is looking back
I think keeping Thomas could be crucial to our promotion hopes. Last season the teams in the top five scored over 70 goals. At the minute I don't think we have that in the squad. We will need goals from midfield like we had in baker, Murphy, Moussa and O'Brien in previous years. Thomas should get 10+ from right midfield and probably more than that. Thomas re-signing coupled with an addition of a new striker such as Collins could add 30 goals to the team. Sadly I'm not confident of either after the vincenti and biamou signings. Currently I don't think we have enough goals in us to win promotion.
I think that someone is Beavon. He will lay them on a plate. Assuming he stays, of course.Apparently McNulty is only effective if he has a good partner to play off. Think we need another seasoned pro in.

vicente is known for chipping in with goals?
bilmau looks like he could be a 20 goal man according to sutton manager
but i agree we want thomas in ADDITION to that
I would agree with you I currently don't think we have enough goals in our team to win promotion. But what we've brought in is a start. Interesting you're not convinced by Vincenti, personally think he's our best signing to date
McNulty would have played up front with Conor Chaplin at Pompey
I wouldn't say unconvinced, I just don't think he'll get as many goals as Thomas would from the right. That puts pressure on Jones or Reid on the other side who I don't think will get anywhere near 10 goals between them
