If it's a hatred of Muslim immigrants then you would think Eid or something would be the target.

"I'm really going to show that I hate the Muslim immigrants in Germany by ploughing through a crowd of people at a Christmas market"

(Just to disclaim, of course somebody ploughing through a crowd anywhere like this is terrorism and the perpetrators should be terrorised in return, my point is just the logic and thought process)

Still can't understand why people at a Christmas market would be the target of somebody who is anti Islam

You could say the same about any terrorist attack, it's terrorism. It is a message to the government by attacking its people.

The mental health issues again?

Hope he gets the help he needs, praying for him.

I think finding out motivation is important. Far too easy to say "yeah he's mental" and move on.. then the next time something happens.
If his motivation is found to be a catastrophic breakdown in mental health, then personally I would want to look into the reasons behind that and try to stop someone else going down the same hole. But crack on with moaning about Romanian gypsies if you think that’s a better idea.

So his motivation isn't pointless if it's mental health but it is if his political / religious beliefs? 🤣

Ok fair enough ..

It's not hard to see why people assume things though is it ? Most of our lives have been spent watching most terror attacks be perpetrated by islamists
I know, it's not an unreasonable assumption based on what's happened in recent years in Germany. The problem is that when it turns out that it isn't a Muslim perpetrator there are some that refuse to accept their assumption was wrong.

Which was also said about the choir boy.

There will be shit loads more coming out wont there.

It's fucking tragic people don't go home from having fun at this time of year.

You can use political or religious beliefs to justify anything, but it might well be nonsense, and focusing squarely on that aspect of his motivation might not help you stop the next one.

In this particular case I have to wonder whether this attack was designed to elicit a specific reaction from a certain group of people.

It's like I said about the Southport c**t but it was just palmed away as mental health. Same as the one in Nottingham, same as the guy who tried to kill the soldier.

I don't think it should only focus on one aspect.

I think there's a pattern about "stopping the next one" though. It comes down to who's allowed into countries in the first place.

So to be clear, you don’t think the Southport killer, or the Lee Rigby killer etc were suffering from mental health problems?

Well of course they aren't right in the head.

The issues are deeper though, aren't they?

There’s been crazies killing peoples forever. Most of these these days are lone wolf attacks, so it’s not like we can take on the group behind them. People of all political beliefs are radicalised online and the crazier among them end up shooting CEOs or ramming cars into Christmas markets or killing little girls. And that’s just this year with three wildly different ideologies with the only thread seemingly being overly online.

Just like those that dance with glee when it's not a Muslim.

Personally couldn't care who's done it, but it's a reoccurring theme within Europe at the minute. Like people have said, they were desperate to pretend it was a choir boy and Christian with the Southport attacks.

Anyway, more importantly, the death toll is low thank God, considering what happened.
