We have been consistently average 10 - 12 points a game every every chunk of 10 games since the first 10

To be honest, I'm just focusing on this season.
I think we'll be OK if we don't have a bad run of injuries but the lack of investment will catch up with us in the not too distant future.

Depends how January goes. Boddy and his message was the equivalent to shareholders of a profit warning. Can’t see if Gyokeres keeps going that he will not be sold

I think we all know how January is going to go!
Agree about Gyokeres. Robins kept a worse team than this up first season back and I think he'll do it again, if he's still here.
I dread to think what the squad will look like going in to next season.

I think also excluding the Norwich game aren’t we 8 points worse off than the same fixtures last season?

ok, since Fulham game (the 4-1 at home) we’ve played 42 games and accumulated 45 points. That’s relegation form no matter which way you look at it. What part of that is rubbish?

Ignoring the fact that 45 points last season was enough to stay up in a 46game season

Needs someone in the room arguing that a fire sale needs to wait till the summer.

Sell for cash

Gyo
O'Hare
Hamer
Sheaf possibly

Release
Hilssner
DaCosta
Rose
McF
One or both goalkeepers
Kelly
Reid
Walker
Waghorn
Allen

Then basically start from scratch

we didn't play Sunderland either but Luton is the only result we've improved on from a corresponding fixture last season.

I am surprised with the stats but agree they don't look good. Having said that, throughout the whole of last season I can only remember a handful of games where were outclassed by the opposition and we were always in with a shout of getting something, appeared to be matching other teams quite comfortably and generally we were always creating chances, but missing tonnes of guilt edged opportunities in front of goal, I'm sure I saw a stat somewhere of chances Vs expected conversion rate and we were high one the former and low on the latter. we also generally got a lot of plaudits externally for our football. How that's rectified I'm not sure and I'm sure Robins is scratching his head.

I think it's why people frustrated that we couldn't perhaps muster up just a couple of new additions at the time just to bolster and take us over the line from being a "nearly" team. And we've obviously failed to do that in the summer. So frustrating for us all whichever way we look at it.

I've said numerous times the form this season is dreadful, no one is denying that.

And yes you are conveniently taking something away.

Why 42 games? What sort of cut off is that? If you want to make it 46 games ie a season then it's 52 points, comfortably clear of relegation. And that includes the worst start to a season in a hundred years or whatever it is.

so even after 46 games, 52 points is concerning. The fact our squad is weaker, off the field issues being more influential it doesn’t bode well. let’s hope during the international break they can plan for October which is arguably tougher than September. End of October we’re not having the same conversation

what we have to bear in mind. Many of the points accumulated during that period were last minute equalisers or winners which papers over the cracks even more. Can’t continually score that late on.

Concerning, yes. But still comfortably clear of relegation despite including the worst start to a season in a hundred years.

This season’s squad is worse than the one before and on top has been dealt a poor hand with the stadium farce and fixture pile up. We really just need to stay up and do a complete rebuild in the summer

Why is it a false position? We've played 7, and of those one was a newly promoted team, the other 5 are currently in the bottom half. The points gap already has virtually wiped out our games in hand. Form can obviously change over a season, but as we look at it now it doesn't look great. Unless, do you mean our false position is being in the Championship and we're more league one at the moment.

Sunderland are top 6 tbf (though, give it a few months for Mowbray to settle in).

Our fans mocking them at the start of the season must feel pretty silly atm

By the 1 nil defeat at Fulham London and PVA ancestors were writing telegrams saying “it’s only a blip in form” “look what we did in 1911” and “if it wasn’t fot the keeper the forwards and the defence we’d be top by now”

The irony of this.

You literally brought up a player from the fucking 70s to make a point once yet apparently using results from a year ago is to be laughed at.

Your hypocrisy is pathetic as always.

'False position' is always a load of bollocks

Unless a points deduction has been made. E.g Derby last year was a false position would have been nowhere near bottom 3

At the end of a season sure, there are no fluke positions. But not even 10 games in?

And that 1 game at home we lost. Yes we've got games in hand, but even winning them all would barely take us out of relegation.

But it would take us out of the relegation zone.
Let's see where we are end of October, we'll have a much better idea.

We’ve not once been outplayed other than the Norwich game, most the goals we have conceded have been down to mistakes or individual lapses. I’m backing the lads to all click and pull together to keep us up. There have been spells in games where we look unplayable, and the starting 11 isnt to dissimilar to last season just Maatsen, JCS and Hyam out with Doyle, Panzo and Bidwell in fair trade

This constant “we’ve lost this many out of this total of games” and “this is the worst start to a season ever” contexts do not cater for the extraordinary disruption that has blighted our campaign already.
Prior to that, who knows what the issue was, but I do not believe for a second that our start would have been as half as bad if we didn’t have the pitch disruption.

Yep, awful run, awful sequence of results since whenever, but who is to say it cannot be corrected? There are signs of an on-field improvement.
It may not improve to the point where we can feasibly hope to finish above 21st, but I can tell you this, flapping around about the situation and throwing stats around (like they can predict the future) will only wind people up and cause a degree of irrationality amongst those who are seriously, emotionally invested in the club.
Others, like myself, will just wonder what the heck people believe they can achieve by worrying over something they cannot affect.

It is what it is, let’s get behind the team and soldier on. 21st here we come. 😜
