Our striker missed an open goal from 2 yards out to go 2 up , then we defended like kids for the equaliser
Absolutely agree with that, we defended poorly for the last few mins of the game and Wright should have buried that chance but I genuinely felt for the rest of the game we defended well and our midfield-attack transition was predictably terrible.

Yes. Played more regularly for the US than Wright, played 80 or so games for Boavista and cancelled his contract with them for non payment.

Will be lining up against us for QPR on Saturday now.

Don't think he's actually been confirmed at QPR yet has he?

Couldn’t agree more. If anyone thinks we’ve been unlucky not to win more games then they’re deluded.

Our midfield was so predictable once again, sideways and backwards passing time and time again, no threat through the middle, perhaps one long ball tried all game. We started bright and then slipped back into our usual slow-tempo ways.

Easily worse than the Cardiff game, it’s fine to make mistakes but there’s absolutely no excuse if you don’t learn from them.
The first half was very promising. Second half very average but then Wright decides to miss from point blank and the defence can’t hang on another 10 seconds.

In this weird position where I don’t want anyone other than Robins in charge yet I don’t agree with a single thing he says or decision he makes.
Every week he blames the defence and yet we created 3 shots on target in that whole game.
If we had created actual chances we wouldn’t have an issue of drawing every other week.
The only reason we didn't win was because of poor defending

Second half we were poor for much of it really , but we still should have defended the 3 points out

Playing for the US more than Haji Wright and signing for QPR is generally not the sign of a rip-roaring football talent

We don't half go overboard on here , shit result , conceded late , not quite happening after 8 games but still just the 38 games to go ..

Robins won't walk , Robins won't be sacked , we will be fine , relax
A like for the first sentence, and the last bit. I'd actually have a chat about the second part on a what if level, but I fear it'll be set upon by the rabid dogs currently circling looking for raw meat!

Tbh we've yet to find out what kind of owner King is - if he rushes to make decisions over managers or not. I'd certainly hope not. As for walking? That also depends how his relationship is with the new owner. He seemed to get on with Fisher, Seppala seemed to be able to persuade him things were good. Again, let's hope King does the same.

The Stoke job is always the one I could see him ending up at... but then they seem spectacularly mismanaged above the team level, as they can't go through so many managers and spend so much money without it being something rotten elsewhere, so maybe he is better off avoiding that gig after all.

Sheaf has had a decent spell out in each of his seasons here

Two 7/8 week injuries since March now.

If he's expected to play every game, I'd be concerned. As I am with Kelly and Eccles.

I keep expecting to read that Kelly has picked up a knock etc.

Binks bizarrely for their goal engages a player with his back to goal, they had 4 v 3 in our box at one point there. Our defensive organisation and shape has vanished this season.

Ultimately if we get to November and are dwindling in the bottom 6, no midfielders, fans booing etc. Maybe he has a change of heart with it and doesn't fancy it.

Imagine if he was listening to CWR tonight, plenty calling for his name. You'd be mortified after what he's done for us.
That's what you get for overachieving last season.

Realistically we’re in for a dull, frustrating season; we’ll finish mid-table.

We’ve spent the gyokeres money and all hoped for better, but we’re not there yet.

We need a whole new midfield. The Hamer funds need to be spent correctly.

Robins has previously worked miracles, I’ve got faith in him.

Replying to myself, but manage your expectations folks.

What? It wasn’t the ONLY reason, it is A reason but the main reason we don’t win is because we can’t score goals.
We do absolute jack shit with the ball, we have a load of possession and a load of time on the ball and yet all we can muster up is 3 shots on target all game, it’s piss poor. Yes our defending could be better but if we could actually score goals there wouldn’t be this late pressure on the defence every other game.

We need a settled back 3, just not entirely sure who that will consist of yet other than McFadzean

An absolute sucker punch to concede that late. I knew we had to score a 2nd but after 90 mins, I thought we were in the clear.

I thought Simms had a good first half when we had control of the game but when we're up against it, neither Wright or Simms seem to be able to put any stamp on a game. They don't chase every ball, they don't have a great touch, they aren't good in the air.

Robins has said players are in their shell which just shows they're weak, mentally. If you're not playing well, run yourself into the ground for the cause.

Saka was good first half but was pretty nonexistent 2nd half. DaSilva, he's not perfect but he's been our best signing.

We won't get relegated but we'll be lucky to finish mid table.

Whilst I am sure there will be some activity in the January window, my god do we need it to get rid of that shocking midfield pairing, I fear that we have now missed out on a key selling point to the player. We are now no longer ‘so close to the Premier League last season and challenging this season’, we look like bottom half average at best. Huge regression, and I struggle to see how that would attract too many players who would really drive us up the table.
Certainly cannot see Brekalo coming in. Maybe Callum Styles, and it is just absolutely crazy to me how we didn’t sign him for the reported £2m release fee, yet spaffed away double that on a defender that is getting splinters in his arse!! (Yes I know they are actually comfy seats).
This Summer’s transfer dealings have (admittedly in hindsight) been very poor. £2m on a player where we don’t play a system that suits his best attributes. £600k on a goalkeeper who does not seem to be anywhere near displacing Wilson, Thomas started well but has looked as though he has some errors in him, but I think he will be ok. The £4m on Kitching just seems to be a ridiculous overspend, and I wonder if a £4m bid for McNally or selling Hamer to Burnley for £12m + McNally would have been better had that been possible.
Then we come to the strikers; Simms, I was never a fan of signing having heard about his lack of work rate from the Sunderland fans…and yes he did have a good game today…but we already had a goal poacher/hanger in Godden, and service/crosses into the box from wide has been poor in recent seasons, with the goals either having come from Gyokeres driving from the side into the box, or Hamer driving in. Cannot think of many occasions when a goal has come from the wing back driving to the byline to cut back.
Wright…well it was completely out of the blue and seemed to be almost a panic buy!

Atmosphere was shocking tonight.

Long gone are the days when the noise carried regardless of the results. Dragged the players through games at home 2 years ago.
There was nothing to get the crowd going.
We created virtually nothing. We forced their keeper into one save.... at home.
We really struggled to break them down.
It was a four performance.
