Based on one good season, and not even the current one, we've been lucky to get the £3m we paid for him back.
I imagine doing the weird Klopp thing would go down well thereThere is also a question if MVE wants to play in Turkey anyway.
If not wrong they play champions league/europa league football? Should be a big draw for a young lad. Plus outside of football surely Istanbul > CoventryThere is also a question if MVE wants to play in Turkey anyway.

I don’t remember thatI’m sure we were interested or linked to him in the summer?
Can’t see us getting another young keeper. Hope we stick with DovinI’m sure we were interested or linked to him in the summer?
Love the win celebrations from MVE - our fans always seem to have a desperate need to find a negative.I imagine doing the weird Klopp thing would go down well there
Disagree. MVE has certainly been overplayed in a team that has struggled. Not his fault we don’t have a back up. But he’s top class and a real player.Van Ewijk has been terrible this season. I’d take the money and run if a decent fee was offered.
Galatasaray are paying £200k a week for Osimhen and signed Sara for £15m in the summer, they easily have the money if this is true of course.King and Robins said last summer that it will take a big offer to sign our players. Sure one of the Dutch clubs were sniffing and the figure was £10M Min so unlikely a Turkish team has that kind of cash currently.
Plus not sure it’s a place a lot of footballers want to live or play.
Tbf, I was exaggerating slightly. However idea we would get £10m for him is fanciful.Come on, that’s bollocks.
Yeah not sure why people are lumping them in with the rest of the Turkish teams, the big 3 are in another league financially to the rest.Galatasaray are paying £200k a week for Osimhen and signed Sara for £15m in the summer, they easily have the money if this is true of course.
Wrong mouth.Thought he was on loan to them the other day when they played us?
The thing is our window of opportunity is closing for this group. Some truly bizarre takes here. Sell X, Y and Z and free up £20m etc. The problem is you’ve got to spend your £20m just to get the equivalent of X, Y and Z. You’ve got to hold on to your proven players where it is possible. So we should be busting a gut to keep Van Ewijk, Wright, Sheaf. It’s the smart, less damaging moves you’ve got to focus on. If we could offload any of Simms, Kitching, Dasilva, Binks, Collins, Torp or Sakamoto for half decent cash it’s worth doing. All on decent wages. Gives you a free hit to replace and probably improve the squad. Rather than definitely weakening it and gambling on your replacement
Not exactly shocking news but from an ITK contact at another championship team we're actively looking to offload Da Silva and Collins.
My contact said what we all think, we'd need to come to some agreement about wages given the time they have left on their contracts.
This is a real concern for me. We've gone from thinking this group will be in and around the play offs but are maybe one or two key singings away to talking about a significant overhaul. The thing is our window of opportunity is closing for this group.
Sheaf will be off in the summer unless he signs a new contract. Assuming Wright comes back in the same form I wouldn't be surprised if he goes too. Simms isn't even getting starts at the moment, and there would be interest I'm sure, so he might want to leave too. Then we have MVE where we know there's interest from clubs much more glamourous than mid table in the championship.
Summer 2025 could end up being a semi rebuild.
Could easily happen nowThis is a real concern for me. We've gone from thinking this group will be in and around the play offs but are maybe one or two key singings away to talking about a significant overhaul.
With potentially that many changes we all know what will happen, we'll need weeks / months before we start seeing them gel as a team.
Not sure I'm happy with writing off this season and next. Fear that will lead us in the direction of the managerial merry go round.
Especially when results are still possible with a poor team before even starting to play football attractive footballThe gelling thing was a sound bite really. Newly put together teams are perfectly capable of starting well. It’s purely about getting players that are good enough
possible but how often have we got off to a flying start and how many players have been written off after a handful of appearances? The gelling thing was a sound bite really. Newly put together teams are perfectly capable of starting well. It’s purely about getting players that are good enough
Bit torn on selling the better players now as still not convinced we couldn’t be dragged back into the relegation battle.
That said I don’t see the current group as good enough for promotion. If Sheaf / MVE want out or we have a decent offer in January for them is it worth taking the dough and getting the replacements in early so we can make a better start next season?
Anyone in centre midfield who is capable of getting the ball on the half turn and running with the ball at pace please.
Really harsh assessment . Its been tough for all players for whatever reason. He turns up every week and gives his best. He is a classy player. We don't know what has been going on behind scenes.Van Ewijk has been terrible this season. I’d take the money and run if a decent fee was offered.
