I don't think Simms will ever be that effective coming off the bench.

He does need the team to be playing to his strengths which are quite different to our other strikers.

So we have to play him because he won't ever be good off the bench ? What if he's shit when he starts too ?

I think it's perfectly fair to suggest simms hasn't been playing well , I know we've been through this yesterday and I know there are potentially reasons as to why .. but at some point even off the bench the lad is going to need to make an impact for us this season

I'm not anti Simms btw , I'm anti playing shite for a prolonged period
As I said yesterday, Simms is only 'not playing well' to those who choose to look for the worst in him.

Like every single player in that squad, he needs coaching on certain things, however, he has good attributes and has been dropped after scoring and playing well. Again, this is because they cannot find the right combination of players, because none are up to the standard, in ALL areas.

They can do a job if we get the balance right, but I never go into a game expecting them all to have a perfect touch and getting everything spot on.
If we were paying to see elite players, we'd be watching the likes of Liverpool or Arsenal wouldn't we.

The whole team is to blame, yet all you see weekly is certain people who just look for any way they can to bring him into it, its boring and parasitic. So I suggest a new thread would probably be good for those who want spread their negativity around.

Unfortunately jimmy when discussing football you have to discuss the good with the bad , over many years I've been quite positive when discussing players but let's be real mate , this season many players are letting the club and us down , they are are paid good money and we are within our right to challenge opinion on players we think aren't doing their job

It's a privileged life and we should demand they give everything for us whilst they are here

Said early on Simms, we don’t use him well.

Even more maddening is that since Lamps have come in we have some of the highest numbers of crosses but we don’t start the 6ft 4 ST.

One thing I do think, is that this year we was of our youngest squads and the managers so far haven’t managed them in the way I think they need. Confidence and resilience is hard for young players but we don’t seem to be protecting any of them nor building confidence on them. All a bit weird imo but still maintain with a experienced spine this is a good squad at championship level

You don't have much empathy do you?

He's a 23 year old guy, all the outrage about performances gets a bit silly when you remember the players are actual humans at the end of the day.

Cam , you were arguably one of the most negative posters of the first 3 months of the season .

I'd stop talking wet mate tbh

Sunderland have the youngest squad in our league and Browne is not a regular although injured at the moment

Yep and they’ve managed their young squad well. But then they had a manager who was experienced with getting the best out of a young group.

Just think this group hasn’t been managed the way they would need to be not that young teams can’t do well when Arsenal are flying and Sunderland are in our league just that you can’t manage them the same way you would an experienced squad

I'm not sure I really was other than saying Robins should go, and I try not to get involved in bashing players, especially for things like effort or performance levels.

I do think the impatience of our fans has had an effect on the players this season, at certain games there has been noticeable frustration.

There's a massive difference between discussion with reasonable and open minded individuals and the ones with tunnel vision who pick certain players to zone in on, and relentlessly post negative shite about them at every given chance.
It's constant, it's boring and it's definitely not intended as discussion.

Not everyone wants to discuss football in that way.
So I think it was perfectly fair to suggest those who wanted to target individuals should make a thread where they can be as toxic as they like.

I would hope that every player on our books wants to give everything while they are here.

Any of my criticism of Bassette has been that's he's not ready yet and needs to be eased in to this level of football more.

I've repeatedly said I'm happy he's at the club and think he has the potential to be a great player for us.

Right , so why is saying simms isn't playing to the levels he can a bad thing ?

Moan about multiple managers not picking him and starting him , not fans disappointed with his inability to do basics often when he comes on ?

:ROFLMAO:

For the record I think Lati is a quality professional, I have never questioned his effort or dedication, I just don't think he has the attributes required to play the kind of football we need to be playing to get promoted out of this league.

Just joking mate , say what you want 👍
