Haha I wasn’t trying to start a Lampard convo up I promise. But I do think he believed he wouldn’t have to rebuild the whole squad when he sacked Robins.
When he initially sacked Robins, probably.

I do think / hope that before FL took the job, he assessed where we were at and discussed the shortcomings and was promised to be able to add/rebuild.

You just carry on being happy with us getting weaker then, even if we get relegated you’ll still be backing king
Stop making assumptions about what I'm saying and actually read the text I was backing the financial stability of the club not King. Do you not comprehend that King putting money in creates an additional debt to the club ? Yet again you've not come up with any concrete figures just a pie in the sky couple of million here and there. I'm very glad that you have nothing to do with the club finances otherwise wed be back at Northampton in a flash .

Why did he big up ‘dream big, aim high’ all summer to leave us massively weak in defence and midfield? Why are teams around us spending a million here and there to get defenders and midfielders in??

Nope, it's actually one thing Doug said at the fans forum that wasn't bollocks

The premier league dream that was sold to them 18 months ago has as much chance of happening as Andrew Tate becoming PM
If that's the case, cheerio. No one in our current team has shown they are PL standard. Hopefully we can get good money for them.

This is another difference between the mentality between Gyok & Hamer and this lot. They had the drive to ensure they did everything they could to get themselves to a higher division. What has this lot done?

Players who think they are better than they are who are not willing to put in the hard yards to get us/them there. I'll give Sheaf a pass because he has been with us through that time and never kicked up a fuss.

Because as a group himself Austin & Robins believed that to be the case.Wait until the end of the transfer window before you can say that we've not spent anything. You can't make a snap judgment now .

All my money was made through being stupid.

If you think intelligence and wealth correlate I’ve got a few landed gentry for you to meet.
Your money was made through being lucky not stupid, Kings wasn't inherited but at the most you can call him naive. Thats the issue not the amount of money hes made but the advice he has taken. He will be successful here given time, supporters want it all straight away but Doug is learning on the job. In 99% of cases making money does correlate with knowing what you are doing.

Very few clubs around us to date have spent a million here and there to get defenders and midfielders in during this window.Check your facts.

There hasn’t been a single transfer window that we haven’t spent any money since he took over has there? Clearly we are trying to bring players in and tried to do more in the summer.

Matt Target is apparently available for a loan from Newcastle, with them willing to cover a lot of his 70k a week's wages. Would be an excellent addition, and would bring the experience and leadership we need at the back!
Good player and professional on his day but has been made of plasticine the last few seasons

I wanted to take the risk even if Hamer wouldn't sign a contract. Could have had one solid shot at promotion, Hamer feeding balls through for Simms and Wright. We'd have comfortably made the play offs at the bare minimum.
As I constantly remind my wife, when wishing what might have been (probably regarding saying yes to me!) , you can't go backwards in time - you have to look forward.

I don’t think Lampard was in a position to make demands. All the noise from him and King at the time was about how this is a good squad that needs coaching not a bum deal.

Of course he was in a position to make demands

Not sure on that.

I’m sure it’s an instruction but the amount of times both our centre half’s are on half way and have metres in front of them to step into but instead decide on playing the easy pass out wide.
No the actual stat is not appropriate for CBs.

Look at the raw numbers, Lati averages less than 1 per game.

Why do you have it in your head that Lampard was sat at home begging people for a job and nobody picked up the phone to him apart from Doug King? :ROFLMAO:

I think he actually believed Lampard was an elite coach who would get more out of these players. It’s a stupid belief but he’s stupid so…
Why is it that stupid?

You look at our games under Lampard so far, I’d argue we’ve been unlucky and could easily be 6+ points better off than we are.

That would put us well in the playoff chase and suddenly the feeling around the club is more positive. The squad we have seems to have a lot of confidence players, a few more wins would have transformed performances in my view.

Because hes never shown any ability to get more from his squads. The best he’s done is the bunker mentality at Chelsea when they were under embargo and that wasn’t exactly his doing.

If my aunt had bollocks she’d be my uncle.

Why isn’t it? Genuine question.

I’m not surprised he averages less than 1 per game. He is awful with the ball at his feet.
The stat you’re quoting excludes carries that end in a players own half. So for CBs it excludes many useful carries that they do in their own half.

Luis Binks is actually the league leader in this stat for CBs with only 1.6 per 90. Centre backs are obviously carrying the ball more than that, so it’s not representative.

A better stat for evaluating this kind of thing, in my opinion, is Progressive Carrying Distance/90

Frank Lampard is the new manager of Coventry City Football club after the former Chelsea and England footballer was chosen as the successor to Mark Robins. But, what is his current net worth? Celebrity Net Worth estimates that Frank Lampard has amassed a fortune of around $90million, approximately £75million

I'm sure he was on his knees grovelling to Doug though.

If Doug believed we have a top 6 deck he wouldn’t need Lampard to get more, just get them performing to their ability.

Firstly lol at celebrity net worth but let’s assume it’s accurate, isn’t the whole point that he wants to prove himself as a manager and doesn’t need the money?

Hard to prove yourself when no one will hire you.
