I'd go as far to say media pundits such as Adrian Durham too. His rant about Apoel being in the knock-out stages of the Champions League and that they shouldn't be there in the first place was excruciating! Surprisingly elitist considering he's a Posh fan

Not the working class game that it was..
Apathy is dead right. Someone gets off their backside to make an effort and do something that they believe is in the long term best interests of the club, and people just cannot be bothered. I realise that people have differing opinions of the best way of protesting, but you can bet your bottom dollar that virtually all of the crowd that does turn up on saturday, despite wanting SISU out, will have made no effort whatsoever.
To be honest it shows that the club is in disarray from the bottom to the top.
So much for loving your club.
Think the boycott could be a total success youve been practicing for it all season

Surely protesting to try and make a difference is better than turning a blind eye and standing back while Sisu destroy our club?
A while ago i suggested that thing that the swedish clubs did - basically everyone in the stadium remained silent for 15 minutes. That'd be a bit weird but it'd be different - and difficult. Maybe everyone could turn their backs on the game for 15 minutes? i dunno.
Hitting SISU in their other businesses would work as well. Sponsors, Partners, etc...hounding them so they know what they've done to the club might help, keep targeting the national press.
If they want a PR war, then lets give them one - we'll Mandleson their asses!
Isn't this something of a contradiction. Apathy by non-attendance and doing nothing by attending?
People who say they never attend games because of SISU are I think slightly disingenuous. I have a strong suspicion that most would not attend anyway unless of course Coventry drew Man Utd in the next round.
SISU have been very poor on a number of counts but supporters have to also accept a degree of responsibility. The club is running at a loss partly as a result of the pathetic levels of support it has received over many, many years. If there is a bandwagon on the roll everyone in the area "has always loved Cov". Once it derails most jump ship never to return (until another bandwagon turns up). We are what we are and we get what we deserve mainly because people who love the club so much they never attend.
I not wasting my money on this game. Could not give a monkeys about the FA Cup to be honest
i can honestly see both sides in this...
you look at the Blackburn protest and whilst i do not agree with their treatment of Kean, they are very worried that they will be relegated and not return to the prem..
Looking at us, a lot of poeple have lost the fight, years and years of "nothingness" has resulted in apathy, and i can completely see why some people wont protest as Championship / League One, its all the same
Having said this, I am firmily in the camp that you vote with your feet, if this was a retail business, it would have gone under months ago, poor experience, poor product, not worth the entrance....
I will not set foot in the Ricoh again until they are gone...
Will still support the lads away from home, but my £600 + a year is not going into their pockets - SISU OUT !!!!
The counter argument is that SISU will business model the club and assess break even positions. I really think we must be revenue neutral now. They will continue to ensure this carries on. Relegation means less fans but there will be 8,000 or so that will always go (probably me included). So they will model the product to stay revenue neutral around that revenue. Reduced revenue will not necessarily see added urgency to leave just more erosion.
Why would I still go? As a fan I just will. I think historically owners have been just as bad -- mid 70's, early 80's were desparate. If they do go will the gates swell? I doubt it.
There's a bid on the table - I genuinely don't get why anyone wouldn't want to help force it through. Just for the sake of one bloody cup game - we're not going to win the thing and are likely to lose to Southampton anyway whilst hardly being a glamour tie.
So 10,000 turn up no protest and the "bid" is turned down by SISU. 8,000 turn up some fans protest around a statue and SISU all the way from the Cayman Islands think - blimey we had better take the pound after all -- right.
Apparently doing f*ck all is the way forward... What a defeatist attitude people have.
SISU are killing the club right in front of your very eyes people. What happens when next season they cut the wage budget again to match the vastly lower income in League 1?
We will get relegated to League 2!
SISU aren't football people - there will be no end to the cost cutting and it's not impossible we'll end up non-league.
Is this what happens to other clubs our size? Is it bollocks.
Fight for your club FFS. Look at the bigger picture.
Those who blame our support, can you please point out the last season our final league position was higher than our position in the average attendence table?
Er....that's the point. It is to do with potential support. Ipswich, Forest, Norwich all get 25,000 plus regardless of league position. We get 14,000 regardless of ours and complain we are not contenders. We are contenders -- for the most apathetic fan base of any year you care to mention (expect 1987 of course)
for the most apathetic fan base of any year you care to mention (expect 1987 of course)
Our average has never been as low as 14k at the Ricoh. My point is that since we have been down in this division around half the teams that finish above us get lower crowds. How do you explain that?
Or Chelsea at home. Or the 10000 who went to Old Trafford.
If they're are contemplating a bid then f*ck all people turning up might well make them think "oh shit things will only get worse".
Forest & norwich had high support in their relegation seasons because their fans have also experienced promotion seasons, something very few of us had.
As for the size of the city, I always think this argument is slightly floored. The size of the city is different to the size of the urban area, the coventry urban area is relatively small, about half the size of nottinghams urban area.
That's OK then - you may not have noticed they have 2 clubs
Easy to forget the unbelievably dedicated fans who queued overnight for chelsea tickets since most of them havent been back since
We really are where we deserve to be and excuses like transport, pricing and quality are merely excuses banded about by one of the most apathetic footballing cities in the country.
I live in Nottingham (a smaller city than Cov) and im constantly embarassed that this city can pull minimum 30,000 combined fans for county and forest despite often poor league positions and quality. In the long run you know the clubs like forest and leeds with passionate supporters will ultimately always have more money and success as people in their cities actually give a shit
I dont know the populations of the counties but Cov urban area is 336k, Nottingham is 666k

Basing the argument purely on the city size suggests that everyone within the city boundary supports that cities team and everyone outside it doesnt. As we know supporting a local team isn't as simple as that.
