I'm not sure we've had a decent, honest and truly impartial statesman or woman in charge of the UK or any other government around the world in my lifetime. If there has been they've probably been bumped off. Human nature and its traits of greed, vanity, power lust and personal advancement have ensured we have had whole successions of career politicians lining their own pockets. No-one worse than the Blairs though { Who I helped vote into power} and I hated that nation destroying idiot Brown as well. What's the solution ??
Ultimately Taylor neither of us lived through her time in charge so we can't say for sure just how good or bad she was. All we can go off is her legacy which was to have all wealth concentrated in one sector in one part of the country and to sod everywhere else. Every man for himself.
Of course, but we, and future generations, if anything will be able to give a better account of her premiership as more evidence will be available, general rule of thumb with history. I think that anyone is entitled to hate evil people in history, Blair, Bush, Thatcher, Nixon, Mao, Stalin, Hitler, Mussolini, Henry VIII, Mary I etc. just because they're in the past, doesn't mean they should be forgotten!
I personally don't 'hate' Thatcher, I certainly didn't rejoice in her death, as I said, I didn't really care, I just told my mum and had a conversation with a few mates.
You'd put Henry VIII alongside Hitler?
What!? No! I was listing evil people, not putting them in order of evilness.
Henry VIII was pretty bad though, but Hitler and Stalin top the 'League of Evilness'.
Come one, who's going to be the first to sing 'Ding dong the witch is dead?'
A terrible leader who totally destroyed the sense of community spirit and of society as we knew it.
Sad to see anyone die, but I dare say there'll be a fair few parties to be had tonight up and down the country!
It's fun reading this thread-most of the people I suspected of being right-wing are!

For clarity, I'm just to the right of the much maligned and misunderstood Genghis Khan
All this is very different to when St Mandela pops his clogs and we have a year of enforced grief and fawning. Any sick or negative comments and opinions such as these probably wont be allowed to see the light of day.
Yes she got a lot wrong but all this shit is just populist look at me I m so right on crap. Still as long as none of you are enjoying the trappings of capitalism
A pair of self-interested vendetta-chasing war criminals who started an illegal war that cost hundreds of thousands of lives and triggered an exponential increase in global terrorism? They're easily each ten times as evil as Thatcher, and I'll happily piss on each of their corpses when they snuff it, which will hopefully be soon and slowly at the hands of a particularly sadistic murderer who films both men's long, drawn out deaths and puts them on fucking YouTube in episode form for people like me to watch with a massive bag of popcorn. Not sure if Blair and Bush would be classed as 'evil' though...
I'm a natural fence sitter.I dare you to not hold back and tell people what you really think...

Cunts.

Low income workers have seen their pay rise by 27% in real terms over the past 30 years but rises for the top 10% of earners have been four times higher.
A report found a "sharp divide" in earnings growth between professions.
While medical practitioners saw a 153% rise since the late 1970s, bakers' wages fell by 1%.
Wages grew by over 100% for judges, barristers and solicitors, while they fell by 5% for forklift truck drivers and 3% for packers and bottlers in the same period.
Try telling some of the people in the professions above their dislike of her is "populist".
With any luck it'll be about 300 numbered 2-hour episodes, each focusing on a different type of torture, entitled Taste of Their Own Medicine. Perhaps there could be a Guantanamo Special where they're locked up alone in a room with no amenities or light or food for 23 hours a day, being dragged out only for systematic beatings, death threats and baseless accusations.Would you not prefer a movie rather than episodes? You have to wait for the next one then?
Ah, politics and religion. The number 1 things to cause fights and wars.

Ooh, what fun.
I wouldn't dispute your points and agree there is an awful disparity but these figures are probably replicated all over the World. Thatcher has had no real influence for 20 years, yet still these changes have happened under the watch of other great leaders including 13 years of that great 'socialist era' of New Labour where rather than address the issues of British workers they chose to give away the UK's wealth all round at the lowest market price while hand almost all created jobs to a surge of foreigners to feed the multinationals they cowed down to !
I can't see all the hysteria over those who want to "celebrate" her demise.
I don't think anyone can deny that she saw the miners as communists, and she hated the communists as we all know - she made no secret of this. Why are we now getting at the miners for hating her back?
It might not be the finest example of human compassion, but it is quite understandable. "Conviction Politicians" (and I include Labour's answer to Thatcher - Blair - in case anyone wants to accuse me of Tory bashing - would never do such a thing!) are always hated as much as loved, because they don't do discussion or conciliation.
