don't pretend you wouldn't have been the first one moaning if we had spent an extra million to secure him in Jan.

Its clear you are a wum or bitter, all your posts are negative
It’s not negative it’s saying the truth. We must be the only promotion chasing team in history who bought players for the next season in the January transfer window when we had a threadbare squad.

I don’t think anyone can categorically state that one player would have made that difference.
This. It was the majority of the team that were knackered and terrible for the end of season run, not us just missing 1 winger - who had also been playing in a cup run alongside the league.

Trouble is, its the boy who cried wolf with you, the relentless negativity of your posts makes you look bitter even when you may have a point.

Personally I think it was the cup run that made us lose focus on the play offs last season, not sure another couple of bodies in Jan would have made much difference as they too would have blown the Brum game.

Can't wait for Torps debut next season! He actually saved £750,000 by us not having Mason-Clark til now as they knocked it off the asking price. Still if you are happy with Doug overpaying and wasting money thats your call.....

A few extra bodies would have absolutely made the difference. We have one of the thinnest squads in the league, the last 10-15 games of the season you could see we were totally exhausted, and that's what ultimately led to us missing out on a playoff spot.

With a few more quality players in January I am sure we would have won the Hull, Blackburn and QPR games at least. We would have then been 1 point away from the playoffs.

I think promotion would have been too much to ask this season, but I am convinced the lack of squad depth led to us missing out on the playoffs.

He has a decent point though. We were chasing promotion with an already thin squad, then left the January transfer window with less players then we went into it with

But if we went up we would probably be fucked over and probably come straight down and stripped of our assets, so its probably for the best, also its 750k saved to put towards something else

Or he was waiting to sign players at a reasonable price instead of inflated January prices

January’s been and gone, hopefully Doug’s learned from it so best to move on from that.
This is the thing, we don’t know what Doug’s true aim is. Is it a business he bought just to make money. I’m hoping it is and he’s greedy as hell because he will only make proper money if we get to the PL. Hopefully he will of learnt something from the January transfer window fuck up.

Stop being so obsessed with negativity, you’re reading it all wrong. If there is something I don’t think is right I will say it every time this is a forum. Take of your sky blue tinted glasses and say how it is.

So if we dont believe in negativity and 'saying it how it is' we are wearing tinted glasses? Amazing you use the forum as a justification for your opinion yet seem against the idea of somebody having a different one

I don’t know what he’s saying as I hid him a year ago for spouting negative clueless bollocks. I assume he’s still at it

In my view he’s doing everything he can to make the club an appealing package to sell on at some point. Part of which would clearly also be top flight football

So it was a good idea to buy a player in January for next season to save a couple of million when we were in the play offs desperately in need of players?

People saying it’s good business for the club when it’s not even their money, I never get that.

Some people are that institutionalised by the club they will never say anything bad about it or believe it can do anything wrong, it’s comedy.

I just hope hes not building all this hype about the club and it’s dreams just to pull on the heartstrings of the fans to buy in to it only to be secretly wanting just to take the millions out when we develop a player and sell him.

That’s my only worry as it would be a final kick in the teeth for the city. There is not enough evidence to prove either way but this transfer window should give us an insight about his true intentions intentions.

It’s two separate issues. I can see why Doug wasn’t keen on paying 750k for 6 months. But we should have got someone else in, it was an error.

He clearly didn’t do that with the Hamer or Vik money. Seems reluctant to go pumping in millions beyond what the club already gets and I don’t blame him

Are owners even allowed to do that anymore?

But we have been here before with you and you have been proven wrong time after time. Clearly you have a personal issue with Doug King. If it isn't about the executive box price rise which put your nose out what is it? Did you prefer Sisu?

According to their chairman on his podcast Doug worked for ages trying to get him to release the player early but their chairman was having none of it I don't think he even set a price for him to be released in Jan and always stuck to a summer transfer. You could say it was shrewd to lock him in at the price he did in Jan rather than wait to see who else would bid in the summer.
