Ideally someone would pay issue enough for them to fuck off but we'd still be stuck as a tenant to a landlord needing to get as much cash as possible from us to try and keep their heads above water while the £30m repayment gets ever closer.

The best scenario for us as city fans is new owners, sign a 5 year deal with the franchise and build bridges with the council so that we're in prime position to pick the stadium in 2022

Let’s hope this was sisu last throw of the dice they will never get the Ricoh it’s time to sell up and move on you’ve failed end of.

The judgement is an interesting read (to me), ref 20 and 63 state that Higgs had the real power in the sale transaction, as they made it clear they would only sell to Wasps. I suppose one of the bigger mistakes Joy has made was to annoy the Higgs charity.

Which is their right of course.

Doesn't really explain the massive hoo-ha in the Telegraph inviting a bid though.

Just a shame people involved with the Higgs were just as snakey as the rest of the twats.

Was any hoo-ha generated by the Telegrapgh though rather than Higgs? I thought Higgs said they didn't think the club had the right to bid, due to them moving the right to bid into a different company without Higgs' permission, but were letting the club have a go at bidding anyway.

It was never going to get accepted, that's why the club should have put a much larger offer in, then it would be more obvious what was going on.

Yep, no doubt it was bigged up but was still a bit of a big thing at the time if I remember. I think the Higgs openly invited a bid, maybe it was just playing games. He was good at that and seemed to get away with it.

I think it is reasonable assume that Wasps will from here on in seek to maximise their rental income because that will have the biggest effect on their bottom line.
But they can't put the rent up. As we all know Ann Lucas assured everyone that Wasps ownership of the Ricoh would not have a negative impact on CCFC. Think you'd struggle to find anyone who termed a massive rent increase as a positive.

Or could it be we were fed a load of shit to keep people quiet while the sale went through?

It’s wider than that though isn’t it, if Wasps are flat refusing then they risk being the bad guys and potentially could affect future fans walking through the turnstiles
You can see the groundwork already being laid for that. And you only have to look at the original sale to see that a bit of 'look over there at SISU' PR from Wasps allows them to get away with pretty much anything.

It was the same with the Higgs stuff as well.

I remember pointing it out and got all of the "you are paranoid" type stuff. The influx of new members on here, piping up of random accounts that hadn't posted for a while etc all made it pretty obvious on here alone. That's without thinking about social media where it is much easier to influence.

Not sure ‘snakey’ Is fair Nick. They’re a charity that Sisu (hedge fund) were quite happy to fuck over. Sisu had every opportunity to build a relationship with both the trust and the council yet were too focussed on distressing ACL to pick up the stadium for nothing/next to nothing.

I wish the ground had never been sold to Wasps, it’s wrong, but Sisu pushed and threatened to the point where I’m guessing Higgs just wanted shot

Nope, PWKH was very snakey. Probably still is.

It's weird how people go on about SISU threatening fans with legal action, not much is really said about PWKH doing it or his relatives giving it the "You wouldnt like my family of lawyers if they get angry" type shit when people were posting about them. (in balance, nowhere near the type of shit SISU were getting said about them at the time).

Do you really think PWKH was interested in any sort of relationship?

I will stick by calling him a snake.

I’d be shocked if he/they ultimately wanted to sell to a rugby franchise than the local football club.

I’m not saying others were totally blameless but it all stemmed from sisu’s ‘tactics’ to get hold of the ground

Council statement;

“The Leader of the City Council, Cllr George Duggins, has today said;

“following a High Court judgment this morning, Sisu-related companies have been unsuccessful in their appeal seeking a second Judicial Review against Coventry City Council.

The following statement will be issued jointly by myself and Cllr Ridley as Leader of the Opposition to the media.

“We are delighted with today’s judgment which once again justifies why we have robustly defended all claims brought by Sisu-related companies over recent years.

“Sisu has continually sought to re-open decisions taken by the Council more than four years ago on 7 October 2014. We have always remained steadfast in our belief that those decisions were appropriate, lawful and in the best interests of Coventry tax payers.

“We hope that this will be the last stage of the litigation and that Sisu will accept this as the end of all legal action so that further unnecessary costs are avoided for all parties involved.”

Why would PWKH really be bothered who it went to? What affinity did he have to CCFC?

The rent strike was about 2012, he was posting stuff on here in 2011 slagging them off.

He had no interest in a relationship, the fact him and other family members also liked to give it the big one with legal threats doesn't really make them any better than SISU in that aspect.

People seem to overlook things like that.

So what now ?

Big blow for sisu they surely know they will never get the Ricoh time to sell up and piss off ???

Yeah, there's going to be massive demand to buy a League 1 without a stadium and paying rent to a franchise rugby club. Oh, and that's before you throw in the ridiculous city council whose tactics led to SISU becoming the only show in town back in 2007

Thing far too many people seem to miss that when they type "just go" over and over again.

Yes, or going back further the biggest mistake was to sell the half to the charity.

Coventry City Football Club acknowledges the judgement given in the Court of Appeal this morning, concerning the Court Case involving the owners of the club Sisu, Wasps and Coventry City Council.

I wish I knew what our owners Sisu were actually thinking of doing next.
Trying to put aside our dislike of all things Sisu, what really is the best thing to do from their point of view?
Of course this question would be easier to answer if we actually knew what their long term goal was.

If it was me personally, I'd scrap the legals.

I'd invest the money saved in that into PR and private investigators. There would be midget prostitutes found in councillor's cars, ladyboys in Wasps directors hotel rooms with bags of coke and all sorts.

I'd sack Fisher off and do what Mansfield do and hire a woman, I know it's 2018 but a flash of arse and leg, fans would be sold.

Woah lads, what's this protest about?

What protest?

If a player bottled a tackle, I'd be at Ryton on Monday like Clough with pitch invaders

As for what they will actually do, probably just try and appeal it somewhere.

Disclaimer

If any midgets or ladyboys are found with said people in the near future, I don't have the means to arrange this so it isn't me.

Hoffman has previously made offers for the club lol

So let me just get this straight, Sisu are challenging (and lost an appeal) saying that Coventry City Council should have sold the Ricoh to Wasps for more money and so want Wasps to pay more money? If that is correct, what are Sisu getting out of that? Are they hoping that a judge orders Wasps to fork out another 25-30 million (which they probably haven’t got) so when they can’t pay the remainder, Sisu will swoop in and hope to pick the Ricoh up for a song?

Three or four years I was in the company of a local politician socially involved in his position at the time in the various sisu actions, he said to me in his opinion they, sisu, will drive our football club out of business eventually I truly fear we are now on that road

<snip>
the stadium sponsorship market is not as robust as it used to be and the figures not what they used to be...... the big deals are the exception not the rule
<snip>t
How many of you have gone out and bought a Ricoh product based solely on the fact we play home games in a stadium with that name?
Personally, I have never ever bought a Ricoh product. I'm not even sure what products they make.
