Ah Boosh, it's been a while, hope all is well
Stopped reading after ‘Kelly and James are not far away in quality’. ChristThe fact we are in this situation to begin with is a joke.
Matty James is 33 and will likely command a higher wage than Liam Kelly was earning, the 2 players are not much apart in terms of quality, yet we shifted on Kelly because we'd outgrown that level of player.
It's a regression to say the least, I'm not trying to come across negative but we are literally 2 or 3 talented players away (a midfielder and a centre back) from really becoming a top 3 or 4 side in this division and yet we fucked around signing a shed load of forwards.
It's frustrating, we already had Sakamoto, Simms, Wright, Tavares. I genuinely thought when we brought in Asante and then Bassette, perhaps Simms or Wright might be sold, but clearly that wasn't the case.
We lost Hamer and O'hare and that is fine. This happens in Football, at every level in the game a club will have to sell because the player and his agent want a fat signing on fee etc.
We all have differing opinions but I think we can all agree we should have signed a fucking centre mid and a defender.
At 33 years old mate I hope you prove me wrong. I'm just not convinced by this news tbh.On no planet are Liam Kelly and Matty James about the same level in ability.

Who is dropping to the bench then mate? Torp who recently signed, Eccles who Robins clearly fucking loves or 5 million Rudoni?Stopped reading after ‘Kelly and James are not far away in quality’. Christ

Or we get to the bottom of the Barnsley boys and their current omission,, the acquisition of players will be retrograde for now you'd assume without the sale of a player or fresh fund's from Vik and hamer, whatever they are?The fact we are in this situation to begin with is a joke.

He’s also vastly superior to PalmerJames is vastly superior to Kelly
For me, any of them. They’re all 8’s and not 6’s. Play James + 2 of the other 3Who is dropping to the bench then mate? Torp who recently signed, Eccles who Robins clearly fucking loves or 5 million Rudoni?
Liam Varney I assumeWhy are you listening to ‘retired itk’ Saddle? He’s been wrong about everything all summer and resorted to stealing nonsense from George Smith in the end
I'm waiting for his media video to come out and the song 'it's the return of the Matt' playing in the background lol8PM video tonight then, what shoes he wearing any bets
Well you are in a small minority thenAnd I hope I am proven wrong I just cannot see Matty James coming in and being far superior at 33 than a limited Kelly.

The issue is it's obvious to everybody we fucked up the midfield
It's not how much has been spent that's the issue, it's where it's spent
All good cruising round showing off in a Ferrari, but pointless if its it's got a Ford KA engine
I don’t really remember Matty James that well, but I do remember him being far better on the ball than Kelly ever was tbh.And I hope I am proven wrong I just cannot see Matty James coming in and being far superior at 33 than a limited Kelly.
Carrying Robert Rocks clubsWhat’s Carl Baker doing?
Carrying Robert Rocks clubs
you will be if he signsAnd I hope I am proven wrong I just cannot see Matty James coming in and being far superior at 33 than a limited Kelly.
Be slightly infuriating if this doesn’t get over the line based on the supposed info about itI agree with you all I fucking hope Matty comes in and sorts out the undynamic duo that is Torp and Eccles.
If he is the player of old then he starts alongside Sheaf and Rudoni.

Also needs to be appreciate that we meet some experience in the side I’m sorry.View attachment 38286View attachment 38287
Now all over X. Our entitled fanbase will have their pitchforks out if James doesn’t sign. Forget the 40m spent over the past 18 months, the attempts to bring in a big CM signing in over the summer, the rejected bids of our top players, the improvements behind the scenes /infrastructure and the fact that we’re even paying decent money on players for the future for the first time in years (Bassette).
Who would be a football club owner !
ps if we can sign James great, I liked him on loan and think he would add to the squad but the lack of appreciation of what’s been done at the club, the longer term plan and attempts to put club on a sustainable footing, is quite frankly frightening
I’m not sure about the need for experience but I think you’re right about not all players needing to ‘fit the model’.Not all players can "fit the model"
We need experience alongside the younger players.
I just looked it up, and only Bidwell and Wilson are over 30, and even then are only 31 & 32.
The younger players need guidance
It’s a tough one.I don’t think Robins has much say in who we sign unfortunately
