Surely a foul on Sterling there.

Spain mean business in this half, hopefully, they'll leave some gaps at the back to be exploited.

I don't understand how anyone could see it as anything other than a foul.

What is Pickford doing!?

I know Pickford is supposed to be good with his feet, but that was just plain stupid.

His best to help Spain get a goal! Lucky not to concede a penalty while doing it too!

Great win!

Did all the hard work in the first half in front of goal and a great backs to the wall effort defensively in the second half to protect our own.

As with the City, I still think midfield is problematic for us.

OH MY GOD. What a game and what a win. We were the better side in the first. They were in the second. If Spain don’t beat Croatia and we do we’re in the semis.

And if not is there a play-off place going at all, or is it straight to semi-final stage, top team only?

It would be very Uefa to give a play off place to 2nd in a 3 team group but that hasn’t happened in this case.

Bit of a turnaround in terms of performance, wasn't it? Spain had a shocking first half, we punished everything they did wrong. Didn't give them any space, looked to get every loose ball first.

Second half they found another gear, we dropped off a little. I suppose there was always an inevitably that Spain could find another level. Good job we hit them hard in the first half.

Pickford, just keep it simple lad. Get your laces through it. Save the fancy stuff for when you're five up against San Marino.

Sterling, where on earth have you been hiding!? And where was you when the World Cup was on? What have you been taking, is it readily available and how much does it cost!?

Entertaining game all round.

With no Henderson tonight and no RLC in the squad we were always going to be light in that department. Winks did pretty well considering how little football he’s played. He’s got a lot of potential. Kane motm for me.

Put Sterling in a position like he was for England in Russia, receiving the ball in a static position where he needs to think what to do with the ball, and he's average at best. He has an inconsistent technique and lacks the football brain to play a deeper creative role.
Last night though he played in a similar position to where he plays for Man City, utilising his pace and direct running. In that situation it's instinctive football, instead of deliberate decisions to be made, getting on the end of others cleverness. In that situation he's very good. He will always miss chances, it's in his nature, but his pace when utilised correctly will sldo always creates chance.

Plus Croatia have the perfect incentive, win their 2 games and Win the group, not bad after a 0-6 and 0-0 start.

We could be 1-0 up in the 89th minute and on our way to the semis only for Croatia to score two in injury time to relegate us. Big game.

So what happens exactly?

Is it top team goes through to a semi final, bottom team is relegated and the middle, second team just stays where it is?

Its only a big game if you actually give a toss what happens in an unneeded tournament. I\d rather concentrate on getting the players prepared for the Euros and World Cup than getting distracted by this.

I think it does just that. Playing friendlies against Moldova isn’t getting the team game ready for the tournaments. We breeze through qualifying time and time again and don’t break sweat. These games are testing the team and getting them. Ore battle ready than other friendlies

You’re probably right. However most would’ve said the same about us last night. With the way how they defended last night even San Marino, Scotland or Luxembourg would’ve scraped a 1-0 win.

You don't mean...it's about the money?

To be fair...it has raised the bar for friendlies. Although it is it's inaugural year.
