If Robins went the perfect replacement would be Dean Smith
It is widely mooted that MR is settled in Derby and doesn't want to relocate. so travel is an issue. This is the one I worried about the most. Why wouldn’t you be tempted if offered the job?
Who’s actually linked him?Robins links to Norwich
Takeover stalling
O hare out for ages
Nowhere apart from this forum.Who’s actually linked him?
take it you’ve blacked out your windows and preparing for mourning?

I’m fine mate, the link to Norwich is an obvious oneExactly - just trying to stop the most depressing member on this forum descending into full on depression
He was favourite for the West Brom job initially and is usually in the list to join other championship jobs - you’d be taking to the bottle if you based your opinions on sky bets manager specialsSecond favourite on sky bet
Former player? Shocked he wasn’t linked to the Man Utd jobI’m fine mate, the link to Norwich is an obvious one
Former player but also it’s a realistic career moveFormer player? Shocked he wasn’t linked to the Man Utd job
Norwich are more likely to go for someone with premiership credentials or star power - More likely to be twice promoted Scott Parker and Sean Dyche. I’d even suggest someone like Gerrard would be picked more.Former player but also it’s a realistic career move
Maybe it might just come down to being paid more and being able to sign players?I don't see why Norwich is a particularly attractive prospect (I'm not comparing it to Coventry here). Big expectations but not sure the standard of their squad compared to the rest is as superior as it was last time they went up. If he goes there and they don't get promoted I doubt he'd last much longer than another season unless promotion looked nailed on.
It's not as if they are particularly patient with managers, sacked a twice league winner in Farke and now sack Smith less than 18 months later.
I think Farke and now Smith paid for the over achievements of the former.
Christ id suggest Russell Martin is more likely to go thereNorwich are more likely to go for someone with premiership credentials or star power - More likely to be twice promoted Scott Parker. I’d even suggest someone like Gerrard would be picked more.
And some experience of managing in the top-flight.Maybe it might just come down to being paid more and being able to sign players?
The list of possible managers is quite reassuring though. I’d imagine they’d want someone who has achieved promotion from the championship.
canteen should be top notch too. Better to stay with us! Both MR and AV are big enough. PUSBWho could blame him IF Norwich come knocking? They’re run on a stable footing, finances are in order, have over 21k season ticket holders and have a quality squad. Hoping they go for someone like Dyche but MR is a legend both here and in Norfolk.
Such a non Norwich appointmentThey would be mad not to consider Robins, he has worked miracles here on a shoestring. Norwich are the next level but do run a tight ship. He would be perfect.
Don't think they will though. It'll be a 'name'... Which suits us just fine
Don’t they regularly sell out with only one club anywhere near them? I’d say their potential and size is similar if not biggerPeople call us beige, is there a bigger more boring nothing club than Norwich? Potential here is massive, Norwich meh.
Yeah. Although personally I think the need to have been promoted to/experienced managing in the prem are kinda daft criteria. And some experience of managing in the top-flight.
But this is the mental gymnastics you’re going through to make this link stick. Teams in Norwich position rarely go for anything different.Yeah. Although personally I think the need to have been promoted to/experienced managing in the prem are kinda daft criteria.
Take Parker for example, Bournemouth were pretty shit under him in both, considering the resources at his disposal.
Think the Scott Parker shout is a good one.Don’t they regularly sell out with only one club anywhere near them? I’d say their potential and size is similar if not bigger
Yeah, seems like it might be a ‘risk’ for them. But this is the mental gymnastics you’re going through to make this link stick. Teams in Norwich position rarely go for anything different.
the manager merry go round is a thing because teams always go for the tried and tested method.
