They aren’t irrelevant as it exposes the club to more risk.Which is irrelevant - if simms for example does score a goal every other game ultimately he will be worth a lot of money. MVE potentially as well.

Spending wisely got us to the playoff final, spending stupidly got us into this current mess.

More than half of our signings have been 23 or under. It's a very young squad. Wright sticks out, but I think issues off the pitch are affecting him.
Ultimately we have followed the same model as previously- use our budget to sign promising younger players. The only difference this season is that our budget increased. We weren't choosing to only spend 1-2m in the past, it was the only money available.
Given we sold Gyokeres for 21mil, it's not unreasonable to suggest they were optimistic of doubling their money for Wright if he worked out, too, with some better exposure in a more high profile league. Simms, being younger, arguably has more promise in that regard.Which is irrelevant - if simms for example does score a goal every other game ultimately he will be worth a lot of money. MVE potentially as well.

Stoke spend obscene amounts every season to get nowhere near the top 6. Ipswich are spanking the league with Conor fecking Chaplin up front…Didn't get us promoted though did it.
We had 15 & 20m pound players in the squad for the final. If we want to go one better we need to sign more players of that calibre, and that involves spending money.
How much did all those players cost?Didn't get us promoted though did it.

Your idea that we can somehow hope to sign another Vik and Hamer for £1m each is ridiculous. How much did all those players cost?
Why? Clubs do it repeatedly every season. We aren't the only team in world football signing players you know.Your idea that we can somehow hope to sign another Vik and Hamer for £1m each is ridiculous.
If we continued with that approach it would be 10 years before we found similar quality players.
Got to push the boat out for centre backs who get left on the bench. Why? Clubs do it repeatedly every season. We aren't the only team in world football signing players you know.
You mean not now ? Or not at all ?Yea hes not signing
Its been made pretty clear
It was obvious Chaplin was a decent player, we never played to his strengths properly.Stoke spend obscene amounts every season to get nowhere near the top 6. Ipswich are spanking the league with Conor fecking Chaplin up front…
Nor did the infamous JackettIt was obvious Chaplin was a decent player, we never played to his strengths properly.
Did I say that?Footballers are loyal? That's a headline.
Very easy to say in hindsight. He didn't look quick enough, strong enough or good enough when he was here. Was staggering we made a profit on him. Don't think Barnsley fans were too bothered about selling him either. It was obvious Chaplin was a decent player, we never played to his strengths properly.
Not necessarily sure that was right - I agree he was a decent player, think it was a case of it just not happening. It was obvious Chaplin was a decent player, we never played to his strengths properly.

But we have more points on the board than this time (13) games last year.Spending wisely got us to the playoff final, spending stupidly got us into this current mess.
We were offered a million for a player we hadn’t long paid just half a million for did you really expect sisu to refuse that.It was obvious Chaplin was a decent player, we never played to his strengths properly.

Which was considered a disastrous start to the season, not the best barometer to use is it?But we have more points on the board than this time (13) games last year.
You don’t know that.Robins wanted him gone it was nothing to do with the owners
You mean not now ? Or not at all ?
It would have been a good deal whoever the owners were as the proceeds went towards signing Godden. Chaplin was okay but wouldn’t have scored the goals to get promotedWe were offered a million for a player we hadn’t long paid just half a million for did you really expect sisu to refuse that.

Chaplin wasn't starting games by the end of the seasonYou don’t know that.
Might aswell start playing the little c**t everyweek asap, who fucking cares if he gets injured again?!
I liked Chaplin, and really thought he’d grow into his role here. Technically excellent. Hard worker. Was a little disappointed when we let him go, However ,his exit paved the way for Godden whose goals helped us get promotion.Very easy to say in hindsight. Sign better playersWhy? Clubs do it repeatedly every season. We aren't the only team in world football signing players you know.

Let’s blame the new players for an existing hero wanting to leave on a free.Someone on here suggested that all was not well in the camp with the old guard totally unimpressed with the quality and commitment of the new signings…..who will most likely be earning more money.
Callum always seemed delighted with his colleagues…..could this revelation be affecting his mind now too ?!
