They'd have deserved that. Playing far too slow, and they are playing through us far too easily.

Positive is we have many game changers on the bench. I think creativity should be getting the nod ahead of pace today - there isn’t the space to use it.

Grealish and Foden are better placed today than a Mount and Saka/Sterling.

He’s absolutely shite defensively but I’d be tempted for TAA for Trippier too. So much ball on the right and wasted each time.

Our defence have been poor and slow. midfield have been poor and overrun. Our attack has been meh.
They look much more likely to score at the moment - which is embarrassing.
The set up looks wrong - let's see how/if Southgate changes it.

It's not working so far, got to be looking at other options at half time haven't we? Offering nothing in attack and they look far more likely to score.

Mount, Saka, basically everyone but the two CB and GK have been shite.

And Mount does something...

States are defending well, to be fair, en masse.
Half chance for Saka, skied it.

Shit half. USA are nice compact making it hard for us, but we havent been good enough. Need to get Foden on, any of Mount, Saka and Sterling could go off on first half performance.

Bit of a reality check that half. Our defenders were far too ponderous, and set the tempo -- which was far too slow. We know what Harry Kane can do, but he is hardly stretching their defence. They are reaching our end of the pitch with far more ease and speed than we seem to be able to do.

However ironically, we normally want teams to push out against us to give us space and we're not exploiting it.

Sterling looks lost, trippier gives it away every time and our passing is woeful.

Too slow moving the ball around at the back -- we are not playing well (if we hadn;t already beaten Iran, I'd feel a lot more twitchy) You can see USA players getting more confident by the minute.

On BBC, that fecking annoying Yank fan that keeps bellowing rubbish in the background that keeps getting picked up on the commentary,

Did the Yanks just boo our fans rendition of 'God Save the King'? Grrrrrr
I said it a couple of days ago - The yanks booing are deffo Stadler & Waldorf.

England's full backs need to move up the pitch in a bit when we're in possession, they're in a flat back 4 most of the time.
Down the pub watching it and a couple of middle aged chavvy women enquired about the early on close up of Luke Shaw.
I said, "That's Luke Shaw".
"Oh", she replied. "That's one for the bank".
