Isn’t it the very inconsistency that we complain of to not enforce a rule one minute, and then enforce it the next?

Enforcement to the letter of the rules from minute 1 would soon stamp these behaviours out.
It wouldn’t matey honestly
It’s one of the most eye opening things at ref association meetings that I’ve found with my lad
We discuss subjective situations which pretty much they all are let’s face it and the different opinions in the room are astounding.
Not just that but the discussions around at the different levels of the game different decisions are expected and discussions about what you can convince the players of
How relationship or authority are more important than actual decisions being made
There’s so much subjectivity

The difference between the two is what’s stark. Though what were we doing at corners?
We seem to be much better at corners this season, literally the one thing we're better at, so i'm going to say we're just taking our time to get them right.

6 seconds isn’t subjective.

And we are talking about trying to stamp this out in the professional game.

Just remembered
I used to run to half way backwards for out the hand or goal kicks and once I was in position that was their time up and I’d say let’s play I actually don’t remember having a problem ever but I never reffed above grassroots
the ref on saturday was walking back - took him ages, not sure if fitness issues

“Consistency” is a myth that gets recycled weekly by those so called experts on the box that are known as pundits.

I think corners do take a fair amount of time generally when added up. Many occasions you'll see the ref holding up play to try and stop pushing/pulling. Also, the corner taker may not be anywhere near the corner and so may take 30 seconds or so to get the ball, take it to the chosen side and then take the corner. I don't think it's anything intentional.

I think those stats need to be taken with a pinch of salt. I'd imagine that if there is treatment needed for a player or any subs made before play is restarted then that will be taken into account here.
