As FootballCV Reds were clearly not 'stolen' as you put it, i can only assume that FootballCV Reds approached ACL, and actually WANT to play 35 miles away in such a fine stadium.
As it's empty, why not let them ?
After all, it's not CCFC's stadium any more - ask Tim and Joy.
Most clubs aspire to play in better stadiums, not worse.
It's much better than Steel Park (Corby Town FC's ground)
I guess no other teams from Coventry asked.
Your joking right? I can imagine fisher, seppella and waggot reading this and saying "this is moving on right" and laughing. It's further evidence the place is a white elephant - ultimately it could become a huge burden to the Coventry taxpayer if this is allowed to carry on. I worry for the citizens of the city, I really do.
Maybe we should invite all the teams up from Devon as well then because they aspire to play in a better stadium, it's a joke.
your posts in this thread are a joke, you have no reason to belive they were invited rather than asked to use the venue and even if they were clearly chose to do so because it was best for them and the kids, as I've already said they train much closer to Coventry than Northampton, though the education part of the two year course is in northampton. https://www.google.co.uk/maps/previ...942,10z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x20ca20d055fa82a
The project as a whole has to be a going concern, not every single transaction.
Noggin your defence of this is the best joke of all. Maybe it was the best for CCFC to go to Northampton (You, I and the garden gate post may think differently) but does that mean it was alright to uproot them to Sixfields.. Yeah thought as much.
I'm not defending this, I'm just responding to everything I think is rubbish, I think it's irrelevant, I don't know the situation at all but there is absolutely no reason at all to think the academy are doing anything but what's best for themselves and their kids, the fact that they train north of coventry and play in corby means they are obviously fine moving around, it makes where they play much much closer to the training area though slightly further from the education area.
Comparisons with moving ccfc to sixfields are ridiculous.

How much are this team paying to play there?
How much are this team paying to play there?
If its £1 its more than SISU were paying!
i hope it's Cov United
Maybe they are paying nothing ie the same deal ccfc were offered until the end of the season, and rejected ?How much are this team paying to play there?
I'd like to see Cov Sphinx play a few games there. Their pitch gets a bit cut up at this time of year.
Are all those who claimed a phoenix club would never be able to afford to play there feeling stupid now?
Well you said "whats best for the kids" Sisu are doing what they believe "is best for CCFC" no difference from what I am seeing, two organisations trying to prosper.
Maybe they are paying nothing ie the same deal ccfc were offered until the end of the season, and rejected ?
It's laughable, if this is their contingency plan then they have bigger troubles than I feared. Almost as big a joke as the new 'plans' for the new stadium
Soccer CV are more a business than a "local amateur side". Basically rich parents who's kids havent been picked up by any clubs but want their little darlings to be professional footballers pay to send their kids to the academy where they get coaching from expros. They then play matches against non league sides to test them/put them in the shop window for clubs. I googled them a while back when I saw Ian Sampson was working there as he is a legend here at Northampton. Wouldnt be suprised if they have hired the Ricoh out to give their academy a bit of exposure and their youngsters a bit of big match experience. Makes their academy more prestigious to potential suscribers if they can boast playing games at a venue like the Ricoh. I'd imagine its mainly parents, scouts and opposition fans that attend so its not really comperable to the situation with you guys playing at the Ricoh.
£20,000 a game then?
Not sure they are going to need much policing£20,000 a game then?
Sisu are not doing what they think is best for ccfc though, no one with any sence for a second belives thats what ccfc are doing, they have never been able to demonstrate even slightly why this course of action is best for ccfc and we all know how easily we can show it not to be in our best interests.
sisu are doing what they think is best for sisu.
if it turns out that the kids of this club are upset with this news then by all means criticise FootballCV but you have no reason to believe they are and if they are the issue is with football cv and not with the ricoh.
Before I get the response about why are you angry with northampton then? I'm not and never have been, in fact I defended them and cardosa early on, we should expect northampton to do whats best for themselves and ccfc to do whats best for us. The issue is with sisu, not northampton and if there is an issue here and there almost certainly isn't its with footballcv.
You'll probably find however the kids are excited by the news. For Coventry city fans though its a complete nonstory.
Not sure they are going to need much policing
