If they couldn't get planning permission for houses on the site of the training ground, they won't get plans for a sodding great football stadium.
Nowhere else to build either, the old Peugeot's nearly ready to re-open as warehouse space.

The hypocrisy of it all is unbelievable.
Seriously? Move out of Coventry? How is that going to provide a sustainable business model?
One would think that the obvious end game is eventually to come back and negotiate a deal for the Ricoh. perhaps they would but perhaps ACL/Council insiders have made it clear they will no longer offer the stadium to CCFC (ie SISU)? This could be the reason. The Council/ACL would do this like SISU before them and against them did, to push forward the destruction of SISU's ownership of the football club.
All sounds a little like conspiracy chatter right? I can't think of any other reason SISU would consider a move elsewhere otherwise. So if we are in the JPT semi again where would you put 30k+ people?
Clearly the nonsense just keeps coming. May I offer my services to bang a few heads together from all sides?
Old Peugeot works was mentioned and not the training ground
Just can't work out how this can end well for SISU.
If that is the plan you could expect a flat packed stadium because it would be done as cheap and quickly as possible.
The rules say a move out of the city can only be temporary so what happens if SISU say to the FL it's a temporary move while we build a new stadium and then that stadium build never happens. At what point do the FL step in and what are the sanctions?
as i understand it the "plan" is to build on a site that enables a developer to come in to do it building of shops etc and throwing in most of the cost of a new stadium, club picks up say 5m or 6m of the cost. If thats the case what is left at Ryton isnt big enough and would still require CCC involvement because of the road upgrades etc required. If that is the plan you could expect a flat packed stadium because it would be done as cheap and quickly as possible.
Right now there are not many of those builds going on in the country let alone round here
Don't think for one minute that I believe it can happen or should happen, but the Ryton site is twice the size of the Ricoh and Arena Shopping Park combined. Space wouldn't be an issue, nor would I suspect road upgrades - since the Highways Agency are planning to upgrade the area around Toll Bar anyway. The old Ryton plant used to accommodate thousands of workers - and operated around the clock pretty much every day of the year. A football crowd 20 odd times a year wouldn't really be an issue.
I'm just playing devil's advocate trying to understand what their thinking is, because I am as sure as I can be that our future is at the Ricoh.
I think employees at a factory v crowds at a football game are beyond compare, do you think ryton village when there is a local derby or leeds / cardiff in town would resemble 10 years ago when the factory was in full swing.
'Our pubs will be full of non-locals for 3 hours 25 times a year' won't really stand up.
And all those Sky Blue Talbot Solaras.
hate to say it but i had one many many years ago............ was the cheapest car to run i have ever owned
Bugger all pubs now there's no Dilke or Bull and Butcher.
Exactly.we're not going anywhere. All statements regarding the club would be made by the administrator.Doubt if fisher is even in a job after the mess he's got the club in.
Saddo!.....
such were the finances of a trainee accountant with a mortgage Bg ........... needs must and all that ..............
As I've said before, what reason have SISU got to continue? It makes no sense whatsoever.
My concern is, if the administrator does favour SISU, they will just buy back their own debt
Did you have a large tin of rust remover?
if you are selling tickets to the head banging Paxman put me down for some !
no just dark glasses and a hoodie so no one recognised me

CCFC Chief Executive Tim Fisher has told the Trust that the club is working on plans to play home matches at a venue outside Coventry. He has asked the Trust to assist in this planning process. The Trust Board strongly believes that CCFC must play its home games in Coventry and calls upon all parties to get together and negotiate a deal to play at our home, the Ricoh Arena, next season.
Therefore the Trust Board’s stance is to refuse to co-operate with CCFC on any plans for moving the club’s home games from Coventry – do you support the Boards stance in this?
Yes / No
With Rotherham they gave them a time limit. I assume if their ground had been late they'd have been allowed an extension if it was obviously nearly done. If the first brick hadn't been laid, I'd assume they'd have been chucked out.
Something like £25M. for a 12K. capacity Stadium.
Bargain, what happens if we go up?
