Very high risk strategy from the owner
Not as high a risk as leaving fans to believe all of the made up stories as to why the owner isolated Robins, forced Adi out, imposed the wrong back room staff, to stubborn to allow MR to bring in an assistant, banned experienced players and loans etc etc etc

I listened. I was pleased with the openness. A little sad for Adi, a little sad that Mark was too proud to recognise his mistakes and that he needed help. If MR had taken a different path I doubt we would be here now….

No…

The owner trusted the package of MR and AV to take us forward. MR terminated that and chose a new structure of coaches that didn’t seem to have the same quality for the players. The results have slumped and without quality coaches to support MR and the team, his position became untenable.

The results themselves could justify a change in management if we’re honest with ourselves.
It sounds reasonable, once people fall out it can cause issue after issue and only takes a spark sometimes. Surely we’ve all seen it at work or in families?

It’s the only explanation so far where everything makes sense. Like I said last week in something had changed since he offered them both long contracts.

What??
Apologies if I missed anything revealing about U Gimoc, but King owns the fucking football club he can say and do anything he likes about the revelations in his own way. Where as you are what to the football club? What's Ur affiliation to it apart from being a supporter and /or trying to rock the boat ?
"king has been no different to me.
He aired things tonight that if I posted on here would get pelters for doing"

People want to hear from King, took their time out to go to a fans forum and listen online to what he has to say and wanted to hear his side of things

People want gimoc to shut the fuck up

I dont believe King for one minute regarding what he said about the assistants position, (everyone who applied actually wanted another role!) .
I'm dubious about his take on the coaching structure.

But it's probably all academic because whatever went on between Robins and Viveash was clearly the beginning of the end.

Be interesting to know if the offending interview was the CET one because that got published in March, almost a month before the semi final, didn't King say the fall out was after?

Was Robins stewing over it for a month? Or did something else happen between them?

Same - I struggle to believe that, it’s the kind of lie he could also get away with.

Seems like some posters who were initially (and understandably) very upset have now turned a bit of a corner and are just hoping we get the stuff in the near future right, which is nice to see.

I'm pretty sure he said it was after the Wolves game.

do you really think the reason they fell out was because of a newspaper article?
Not sure. I think they fell out though. And so I’m afraid the double act of MR and AV was over. They were unbelievable for us. But it ended. DK felt it needed fixing / changing. Fair enough.

Most of the questions last night were awful. People just liking the sound of their own voice.

The one that sticks in my mind was the guy who asked about stadium ownership. A complete waste of a question.

He initially insulted King, then very briefly mentioned the lease running out in 2028, then asked if he thinks we should own the stadium.

Obviously he was going to answer yes to should we own it.
And insulting him just made it look like Doug was under attack.

The only sensible part of the question was about the lease, which we never got an answer to because Doug was defending himself from the insult.

The questions compiled from the supposed 90% of this forum ended up being the emotion driven clap trap I called straight away. Going in with assumptions, assumptions created from a mixture of dubious itk information and shit just made up through rage was always ridiculous.
Maybe we should be prepared to hear people out in future.

I thought the questions were quite good and relatively well controllled. Quite rightly BBC CWR tried to coordinate and try and stop any ranty fans going off piste. Rob Gurney went off piste a bit too.
The stadium and loans questions however were utter tosh and irrelevant.
Most telling for me was DK offered brilliant 4 year contracts to MR & AV and then they fell out which annoyed him and unsettled the vision, big style. I would have asked about reasons for loss of Big Dennis L which may have started the demise. All a bit sad and no one comes out of it well. No option but to move on.

Good to see you’re taking it well 😂

what I can’t buy is that King has effectively trashed Robins and made him sound like he’s been lucky for 7 years.

You can’t tell me he’s effectively been twiddling his thumbs whilst Vivaesh has been the brains.

you can get away with this for 12 months max. Not 7 years
Clough/Taylor - not the same when apart? Not sure I heard Doug say MR was lucky.

Doug King probably needed the weekend to fathom out what he could/couldn’t say legally. Professional last year wannit. Must have been great coming in those last few weeks last season

Would have to be a bendy bus with the allegedly 84 coaches on the bench I keep reading about on here.

In fairness sometimes they do, other times all of the kit and stuff go separate.
The kit goes in the kit van with the kit man and normally one other person.

The rest, all goes in one coach.

If you’re the coaches walking into training tomorrow when the owner has basically said you’re all shite, how do you command any level of respect.

One of the “ITKs” already said players think the new coaches are shite last week?

I know, I've helped wheel the metal boxes info the stadium before and usually before the team bus arrives, but in fairness to the original poster, there have been times when more than one bus was used and that was even back in L1 so not a reflection of number of coaches on the bench etc.

As much as I wanted to pelt Doug with rotten tomatoes, he came across rather well. If Doug is being 100% truthful that it was MR who changed everything, then he doesn't really have anyone else to blame for what is clear underachievement.

THIS, other than pelting Doug with rotten tomatoes.
He's the custodian of our club and wants success.

So that was before the CET interview I think.
And they limped along working together for another 6 weeks.

I remember the series of three interviews. I thought they were pretty good and showed Adi in a good light. Nothing controversial.

Is Doug also forgetting that the drop off in form last season and the slow starts that and the season before were when AV was also here?
but this seasons slow start is because we don’t have a master tactician/ head coach?

I dunno, like I’ve said some things don’t make complete sense to me.

An early highlight was King opening with 10 minutes explaining his decision and it being immediately followed with WhatsApp audio of someone demanding King explain his decision

Last night I think there were some truths, some half-truths, some embellishment and revisionism. Still, to be fair it's lanced the boil and the anger seems to have dissipated, so he succeeded there. We just all need to move on and get the best head coach we can.

Somehow I do feel a little clearer about what went on and thought King did his best to be upfront about the situation. Let's see what happens between now and Jan 1st...I for one am pleased we're not rushing into a decision and appointing Lampard as the press would like us to believe! I think King cares but who knows. Very sorry to see Robins go, felt like a family member, but I'm hoping that when the new man is appointed he brings his own team with him, cos I think what we have at the moment is the core of the problem!

Maybe it was down to the player complaints thing. Club wouldn't want that getting out, understandably.

Unless there's another interview in another publication. King was a bit vague.
