Racism is what we talk about the most after football. What he sees as a racist remark doesn't register as racism by many.
Can't really have a few Millwall racists booing and then stop doing it can we?
No they are not as explained to you at great detail.
Essentially what I’ve been saying for years. It’s everywhere, it’s constant. It’s even from members of my own family. I’ve given up with the “by the way I’m part black myself” talk every time I hear stuff in the pub etc because can’t be arsed any more. And with shite you hear watching football in the pub for the knee stuff, I’ve taken to going for a piss at the start of the match. I’m dreading going to games if it’s still happening by then.
I hate this thread. I try to not read it or post in them but I’ll make this last exception. It really puts me off using the forum.
Even the NFL athlete who said that’s what it meant to him?

What can be done if fans boo at one of our games though. Are we able to request that the club ban a minority doing it and if it ends up as a majority doing it walking out and requesting a refund on your season ticket?Essentially what I’ve been saying for years. Even if a you see the gesture as being a Black Power fist, does this concern you more than the reason the Black Power movement existed in the first instance?
And? You seem to be under the impression that everybody who does a raised fist salute does it for the same reason.
As explained to you it is in wide usage for other reasons and most people who do it in these protests are simply doing it because they have seen a picture of 2 men who have said they were not doing a black power salute give the raised fist salute.
It's a weird argument you have going on there;
I understand why it came about, I just disagreed with the idea of violent protest. That is understandable right?

It's just as ridiculous that the smallest gesture in defiance of it is too much and has to come to an end according to the same middle aged white blokes.it's fucking ridiculous that in 2021 you're still dealing with this shit.
I also never said that. My original objection was due to its historical association with a movement distinct from non violent protest. That hasn’t really been disproven.
only it has many times hence your trying to reposition your argument
we're done here really
Les Ferdinand was correct over 2 months ago when he defended QPR for not taking the knee against City....I think all the clubs should bin it off now....if individual players wish to do so before KO, then thats all fine & dandy......but as a team thing, it all looks so half-hearted, half-arsed....just going through the motions....it now appears as nothing more than a yet another tick-box PR platitude.
So if say Dabo, Baka and McCallum say it matters to them and as a team the rest decide to support that what should happen? Cos I expect that’s the actual situation across most clubs. Otherwise who do you think is forcing these players to do it against their wishes?
Well, thats fine then. Take the knee. I just get the impression that many are just going through the motions, which kind of cheapens or almost trivialises the cause....."nothing more than good PR".
I don't believe anyone is being forced to take the knee against their wishes, but I suspect there maybe those that feel the social pressure not to raise the issue.
I agree with Les.
Which seems to be what is happening but they are generally deciding to do it. Then football twitter decides it's the ghost of Chairman Mao sitting on their shoulders.I think it should be up to each team to decide as a team and the fans should support it either way TBH.
Fair fucks to him. Also the same bullshit about 'ma freedum av speeetch', it's a the owners stadium he can do what he likes in it. You still as free as a bird to sit at home and boo them on ifollow. Just the same as you can call my wife a bitch as much as you like at your own home but there will be consequences if you do it round mine.
Millwall fans man
Some QPR players, who haven't been kneeling for most of the season, are going to kneel on Saturday. See how that goes.I think I must be missing something. How is Millwall and QPR not taking the knee in their game this week a positive thing? The press release makes out they're doing it as an anti-racism gesture.
Seems to me more a case of knowing the booing will be repeated and not being prepared to deal with it.

But they haven't done it all season, Millwall have and now they're stopping after their fans booed while missing a press release making it its an anti-racism stance.QPR dont take the knee either.
