Not seen one poster say Britannia should rule the waves. That's odd. We should be proud of being British and recognize our own importance. People want co operation and joint efforts on global warming and trade but they don't want an eu nation with a flag and an anthem and an army.

I think a second referendum on exit terms would heal divides, in my opinion the only people that don't want one would be those scared of losing it.

Hi Guys, I have just started reading this thread, albeit, not from the beginning.
As a remoaner I have a few points that I would like to raise.
Firstly, if we had voted to remain, I do not think for one minute the Brexiteers would take that lying down and would demand another vote (not that I am advocating another vote.
Secondly, everyone knew that Brexit would mean away from the single market and customs union. Agreed, but the people who said this were the remainers, I lost count of how many times Boris told us that we would get a deal. I do not think for one minute we will get a deal without freedom of movement and all the other things that you have to do. We may as well have stayed in and had some some influence, because I do think that times are changing in Brussels.
Thirdly, there is no way on earth we will get a deal that these arsehole politicians say that they can get. Why the hell should we get access and a deal that meets our needs when members have to subscribe to EU rules? it does not make sense.
In my opinion, this has been a major cock up from the start. Lets just get it over and done with because I do not think that there is anything to negotiate

I am up for healing divides but I think we do that by including all parties on how we exit like mrs may has indicated today and wants Corbyns input. Rightly so. He wants a harder brexit than May some have said but either way he should be included.
If a brexit isn't delivered that people voted for there will be bigger election results in the future. You think the referendum result shocked wait and see what happens if it doesn't happen.

It will depend if there will be a free trade deal or not, I suppose. Personally I think that the whole thing will get watered down and there will be a Norway kind of deal, which will involve continued FoM but with am emergency brake or restrictions for the next 5 years. The comment about the trains was based on Farage's previous comments.
Yes, I gritted my teeth and voted for Labour for the first time since Blair. I have reservations over Corbyn, particularly with regards to Europe. Still though, if we HAVE to leave the EU, I'd rather Labour were in charge rather than the car crash Tories.

To be fair SB, if Corbyn had any sense (or balls) he would have campaigned for the UK to leave the EU out of the door on the left......
....but we are where we are.......which frankly is a massive fucking catastrophic mess.
If someone would have told me how the 12 months after the referendum was going to pan out, I'd have a) not believed them, & b) not engaged with the whole fucking farce.

You're right, Corbyn would have been better positioned showing the case for the left and leave... would have put him in a stronger position with his party as it turned out, as he'd have been proved right. The problem is, we'd never have got the left version of Brexit amidst the braying nonsense of 'Brexit means Brexit', missing the fact that a low investment sweat-shop is very different type of Brexit to an alternative.
Blame Cameron for reducing such a complex issue to such a ridiculous black and white question really, where a minority of the 52 and a minority of the 48 think they have the answer for what it *actually* means!
