Exactly.

Nobody knows. But they will still want our money. That is why it is a joke the way they are playing their game.

You don't seem to take me serious when I say that I think I would be better off if we stayed in. I don't know how many times I go into Europe each year. I have always planned to tour Europe when I retire for a few years at least before taking on the rest of the world.

But some don't seem to think I should mention what is wrong with the EU. I am supposed to have a go at those who want out and get money for owning land but not mention those who want to stay in the EU and continue to get millions.

I mentioned Farage and his greed earlier. But as usual it.got missed.......

I don't think it works like that, they will happily sell them to you but you'd have to drink the lot before trying to come through the UK customs.

You might be fine to tour if you are able to prove you're financially able to support yourself and have private medical insurance (which will be pricey). My gripe is that it's going to be something reserved for the wealthy and closed off from a lot of people.

I'm just glad that I have had an Irish passport since birth, as you can expect I'd have burst a blood vessel if I didn't.

For tourists nothing will change - scaremongering nonsense.

You have no more idea than what anyone else does.

If you're looking to spend an extended period of time in a country of course you will have to prove you're financially secure and have private medical insurance.

It would be the same for anyone coming here, as it is now if you come from outside of the EU.

You are only allowed a 90 day stay in the Eu anyway now unless in employment every 180 days. You don’t know if we will still have a medical reciprocal arrangement with the EU and even if we don’t you would take medical insurance for your stay which is very cheap.

I have a visa for Russia and India and have never had to be asked if I have private medical insurance.

And how do you know this?

We know nothing yet. It will be what they want it to be. And it will depend on how much they want to punish the citizens of both sides to be able to stick their middle finger up at the British government.

Hahahaha! It's absurd how you've twisted the blame onto the EU for a self-inflicted act by the UK, which is the country removing it's citizens' rights by the way.

So why did you make a statement showing you know what will happen?

Exactly. It’s ludicrous and he knows anyway that Euro travel as a tourist is restricted to 90 days - it’s likely the EHIC system will remain especially as we are net contributors to the system

I assumed Astute was looking to tour for an extended period. Why should the EHIC remain after the transitional period?

You are not allowed to tour for an extended period as an EU tourist under the agreement are you?

I can’t see why it wouldnt remain - other non Eu countries have it and we net contribute - and anyway tourist cover is fairly cheap

At that point you'd likely have to prove you had funds to remain in the country and comprehensive medical cover.

It'd be great if it did remain and EU members were entitled to claim here too.

Would you like to explain yourself for once?

Or are you saying that it isn't the citizens here and all over the EU that could be left to suffer?

Want to tour for as long as we are capable. And will be coming back frequently. Wife to visit family and me to go to games.

If I am not allowed I will just spend my money where I am allowed to go. There are many places other than the EU.

I assume the card only covers 90 days and then you are liable.

we were perfectly ok as citizens travelling and worling and living in Europe until Brexit. Anything that gets worse is due to Brexit.

The UK no longer wants freedom of movement for its citizens in the EU or for EU citizens in the UK.

Yet you've managed to turn it around to the being the fault of the EU.

I'd probably prefer to tour South America personally.

Relates to employment though nothing to do with tourism - that’s as restricted as if you visit South Korea.

You make out the EU is good. I mentioned a few of the bad parts. You then say I blame the EU for everything.

Bit of.a.leap there as usual.

If he's referring to citizens suffering then I'd assume he's talking about freedom to live and work there also.

When ETIAS is rolled out who knows what'll turn up on their systems about him :D

Try again.

Tariffs on everything means we could buy from elsewhere in the world. Same as the other way round.

Make it difficult to holiday or travel in the EU? How many jobs depend on our money? And that is just a couple of points.

It isn't much more expensive to go to better places. It just takes longer to get there.

I was talking about travel not tariffs and a lot of people apart from the British go on holidays too.

How on earth would holidays be impacted?

On a side issue a Professor at Warwick university reported an increase of 10% in university applications this year from EU countries.

After a 9% and 7% drop the last two years, so we are at 1.5% above where we were in 2015 - a significant slow in growth.

Tony the Bliar won't be able to change anything. He is just a Tory in disguise. And not trusted by many either.
