That doesn’t make sense

if he was mascot, he would have met every player. I know as my daughter did it last season

had photo with every player

Ohare was one of the best with her that day

what game out of interest?

My lad did Club mascot last season as well. Met all the players pre match for photos and signing of a ball apart from O’Hare who never came out to meet them.

It’s ludicrous the stuff that some are coming out with. Today alone I’ve heard Lampard isn’t a “name”, Robins should have dropped Haji Wright, that it doesn’t matter who the opposition is in a game, and now that Lampard gave Dovin his big break when Robins wouldn’t.

Just batshit.
look at the absolute horse shit you’re peddling

you’re obviously still fucking butthurt about Robins and pretending there has been absolutely no change in style or individual player performance since he left which is either highlighting how little you know about football or how much you’re trying to kid yourself

left and right backs getting into more advanced inside positions, centre kids making late runs into the box which has resulted in goals, finally getting the shit goalkeeper out of net and putting our best keeper in net, giving younger players eg bassette and EMC an extended run in the side

just to name a few things. many of the players are still dog shit and you can’t change it overnight, and the jury’s still out on lampard, but you really need to grow up and get the fuck over robins it’s pathetic

also, you were calling for his head 🤣🤣

Not brilliant, but those teams are fighting for their lives, and we have limited quality available.

We have stopped shipping 2 goals a game, which is a good start, but the rest of the problems will take time and new faces.

This "deck" is NOT top 6 quality, we need to accept that when judging what MR and FL were/are capable of.

How many of the signings are Austin signings do we know?

Just wondering which ones were Austin and which ones were Badlan

You’ve fucking repeated it! 😂

Once again for the hard of thinking. Dovin was benched less under Robins (3 times) than under Lampard (5 times). This is a fact. You can google it. Not an opinion.

If you can’t even get that right, what on earth gives you the right for the rest of your weird rant?

Oh here’s another EMC isn’t a “younger player” he’s 25, pretty much bang on in the middle of the squad.

You’re just spouting provably wrong bollocks.

Hang on, one of the big arguments on this thread seems to be some form of "we don't want to be the sort of club who just sacks decent managers and should give them time - we should therefore sack Lampard and get a decent manager in"

This is fucking nuts.

Unless there are some insane technological advances I'm not aware of time travel doesn't exist and we can't undo the sacking of Robins whether you believe it to be correct or insanity.

Frank Lampard is the current manager and having inherited a squad devoid of any belief and playing shite football should be given some time to show what he's capable of. I'm talking at least a season here too, unless we want to become the aforementioned club.

seriously where is this style of play you talk about?

The play has been slow, no style whatsoever

Bidwell and mve used to bomb up and down the wing under robins

there has been no improvement on the pitch under Lampard

unsure where you see this improvement?

not as such

his girlfriend gone back to Holland. since then he’s suffering on and off the pitch
Did she come back for Christmas then based on the TikTok or did MVE fly out and come back?

Funny enough I feel the style is trying to emulate how Robins used to play. Same ideal of playing through defence into the wings and then crossing into the centre.

Only difference of note, is the defence line holding higher up to squeeze the pitch which has meant MVE plays a bit safer to bail us out with his pace.

Been a mixed bag so fair but feel there is a attempted style but atm with confidence low, mentality low, I doubt any style would stick

Fair enough.

Honest question with all the problems you note at the club. Do you think it’s unfair to pin it on Frank now or would expect him to be doing better in spite of them?

personally it highlights to me the balance of the team isn’t great

The mentality of the team isn’t great

king has put a lot of pressure on this team calling it a top 6 deck but in reality it’s not

Don’t disagree with that.

Doesn’t seem to be any leaders who drag people up with them and obviously it’s a young group who everyone predicted would be in the top six, so the pressure has clearly got to some of them.

Hopefully we can add to the experience this window and in the summer. Might disagree but I really do think, a couple of leaders and the squad isn’t far off

it’s hard in January to bring in any real quality

it’ll be short term fix at best

The full backs bombed forward under Robins and we conceded 2 goals per match…. Maybe Frank thought that was a contributing factor.

MVE uses his pace still but it’s covering across the back 4 now when we are caught by the opposition on the counter attack.

It not all about full backs "bombing up and down". That's too basic a comment and is disingenuous towards what we are actually seeing.

Bidwell in particular has started taking up inside forward positions which allows the winger still to be wide, whilst providing support and additional bodies in attack for the opponents to deal with. Probably instructed, as the winger (currently Rudoni and previously EMC), has better end product.

It used to be the opposite where MVE/Bidwell/JDS would overlap and provide the crosses. It is a change. Whether it's working is up for debate, but we have seen goals and more chances created from crosses.

The issue

The players.

Manager can’t help a team full of players that are on the beach already (and it’s only January).

No idea what it is but far too many players giving the ball away far too easily.

Not trying passes through the lines (which is crucial when trying to break down an opponent) and choosing a sideways easy pass.

Not looking up and trying a quicker pass (instead choosing to take a touch and letting opponents ‘set’ defensive shape).

Not picking up their man and tracking back.

Being pushed off the ball instead of fighting for it.

This being said we are missing a hat full of chances with very high XG.

Our composure in scoring situations is abysmal.

Movement too an issue-we’re playing 3 central midfielders and they all seem to move into the same parts of the pitch. Terrible to watch especially when trying to break down a defensive team-admittedly when EMC is playing Rudoni gives us movement in the attacking half and we miss this when he’s playing out wide. (Maybe try Bassette as a wide forward and keep Rudoni in his more effective position).

Take Sheaf. He’s been in several positions in front of goal this season (and again yesterday) where he chose to try and pass the ball into the net (with the accuracy of a blind archer) instead of absolutely smashing the bastard laces off it.

Whether it’s a leadership issue or a squad complacency one-we have to start games with intensity and intent.

We have done this far too many times under both managers.

Personally I blame Sheaf-he’s looking like a player that the Captaincy wears too heavily on him. He’s becoming a bit too Hernandes.

Blaming other players for his mistakes and waltzing around the pitch like the fans owe him something.

If the Captain is leading by example there’s no wonder the rest of the players seem to not give a shit.

you said he was playing collins instead of Dovin?

we signed a keeper because he knew we needed it

so makes your comment even more bizarre

He dropped Dovin for Wilson

No the argument is we shouldn’t throw good money after bad with no evidence of efficacy. We aren’t going up and we aren’t going down. Why spunk millions on a manager who might not be here next year and hasn’t shown any ability to get the most out of players or set up a team yet?

You really want this squad to stay as it is for the rest of the season?
