I'll throw in a hand grenade here, but if we were to lose Gus (I'd be focused on him signing a new contract over anybody else), I'd be looking to see how Liam Walsh performs/stays fit between now and the end of the season. Only because I think he is a top player (with sh*te injury record, granted!)
His only goal came for Swindon in the 2016/17 season against Oxford UnitedWho’s Dabo scored against?
He likes scoring with OxfordHis only goal came for Swindon in the 2016/17 season against Oxford United
For all the fuss we made about him in January, he’s played less than 60 minutes of football since the start of the year. Even Maguire’s seen more game time.Jamie Paterson 18th time lucky
Looked very alert and busy, could blend nicely with Vikhow did Jerry Yates play yesterday? Could he be an option alongside Vik and Marty next year? Doubt he’d cost much and seems lively against us?
Brighton have a number of good young players on their books their scouting system is top notch. They buy reasonably cheap and sell at good profit.Like the look of Reda Khadra from Brighton. On loan at Blues currently. 21yo attacking midfielder.
The way Brighton have built is a way others have in the past of similar sizes. Its not easy and tends to go in cycles but they are a club heavily invested in the youth and scouting system. You have to admire the way they keep producing and mixing the transfer system and academy system to drive the club forward They recruit smart, buy smart and sell smart all in away that still allows them to compete at the highest level.
Its good to see clubs rise and sustain themselves but that becomes the hardest part. Once you are there decisions have to be spot on majority of the time to keep it going. But recruiting is so important to any club and not just player the whole structure has to have good people all seeing the same vision.
In Brighton's case the group it sits in has debts of £445m as at 30/6/21 albeit £336m owed to its owner. It is ridiculous how it is held up as some sort of beacon of sustainability - shows how perverse the English game is.

Assume a big chunk of that is on the stadium?
He hasn’t scored from open play all season.

I got this from a Lancs Evening Post article quoting Andy Morrell. Thinking abt Blackpool’s goals vs us in Oct I’m not sure it’s true (but it was his last league goal prior to the QPR game).
His 11 goals this season inc 2 penalties in last two games after a barren spell in a team that’s going down. Was linked w Rangers in January, Blackpool apparently asked for £5m
If Vik extends and we announce a stadium deal i think we are in for a good summer. Im sure the big 3 will extend and other players will want to come. id love to see early signings of McNally, Dasilva, Kipre or Cresswell, Doyle and Panzo, that for me would be a brilliant start to the summer.
Anything after that ill trust in MR to get it right with the incomings in more attacking positions. Although i like some attacking names been mentioned already Ogbene, Dowell, Bowler and Chair could fit in well with us I think.
He’s being monitored by Juventus and Napoli, so no chance. It also goes to show how much Serie A has declined over the last 10 years.Josh Doig from Hellas if they go down.
Surely the premier league is more appealing than Napoli and JuveHe’s being monitored by Juventus and Napoli, so no chance. It also goes to show how much Serie A has declined over the last 10 years.
Normally not a fan of bringing back old players but wonder whether Ostigard would consider a move back. Has only played 5 games for Napoli this season. I'm sure he couldn't fail to notice the development in Viktor since he left.
Why not both, but agree likely to be expensive. Not sure I rated him tbh, poor on the ball and rash. Good in the air. For the type of fee and wage you'd take McNally every day of the week.
Not sure he’s beyond us - he’s not good enough for the PL.I like Ostigard, big, strong, powerful, vocal, has flaws to his game but he was only 19/20 when he was with us. I think he would be the long term successor to Fadz if he were to sign, but his career is beyond us currently, plenty of clubs further up the food chain would take him.

Cov over Napoli or Juve? That's Sunderland forum levels of madness.Surely the premier league is more appealing than Napoli and Juve
Haha, at times you'd think we're a reincarnation of 1980's AC Milan based on this forum.Cov over Napoli or Juve? That's Sunderland forum levels of madness.
