I don’t even understand that point - it’s not relevant to actual pay

All of it is relevant to the strikes though, so it is relevant , very relevant

Guess it depends on how niche it is and job availability and what the wage is being compared to. (The terms and working conditions of each job etc).

Would I rather you got an extra £5k a year compared to an MP or Lord Fuckwart? Of course.

How do you know he isn't Lord Fuckwart?

The vast majority will think they aren't paid enough for what they do, also.

It also depends on working conditions and the definition. It could be that one person thinks it is bad working conditions because they get their shoes dirty and the next dives straight in and doesn't give a shit.

The vast majority in this country aren't paid enough for what they do, correct. It's mainly the ones who collectively organise and campaign for more though who tend to get it.

It's 'I'm alright Jack' until it inconveniences you

99% don’t receive a increase because of inflation, if that was the case we wouldn’t be making £20k a year as a adult expected to buy a house pay mortgage drive a car pay bills ect, there are a lot more people who should be protesting.

why are the nurses not protesting?
why the policemen, firemen ect?
It’ll come don’t worry.

A lot more should be protesting, you're right. Wait, hang on

We demand better: March and Rally, 18 June | TUC

If we didn't have some of the harshest anti union laws in the first world you'd undoubtedly have seen more strike action and protest by now.

So the vast majority of the country should go on strike then?

It's not really "I'm alright Jack". I grew up on an estate and have a few GCSEs. I'm hardly knocking about with Boris and Rishi.

I still don't know what the limit is on people just trying to get a better wage until they become greedy, though?

Perhaps a national workers' strike isn't a bad idea. 12 years of falling real terms' pay is kind of taking the piss.

10% pay rises a year else we strike.

Would be lovely wouldn't it?

I'll file that with what I'll think about with lottery winnings.

Striking is not relevant to pay .. got ya .

Well the last time we had wholesale strikes do you think it ultimately benefit “the working man”?

Have you ever thought of venting your fury at the real villains of the piece??

Lol you are in a cushy protected job that offers zero risk of unemployment - you really are an out of touch arrogant snob playing at socialism and not really giving a fuck.

Grow up

Where did 10% a year come from? Teachers' pay in real terms has fallen 20% since 2010 and I imagine that's not far off how it's been for a lot of people.

So what do you do close every business that can’t pay that and everyone is out of work

Why do 40% quit the job in the first 5 years if it's such a piece of piss? In fact we're into the last week of term-fancy giving some lessons?

Why do they take all the time to qualify and take jobs without due diligence?

It's like me deciding to become a nurse but b then realising I don't like blood.

So you'd want unqualified people delivering your children's education? The profession's had a recruitment and retention problem for years despite it apparently being the easiest job on the planet.

You work on a park bench?

You know where I work. I showed the guys your advice - they think your an entitled c**t who doesn’t live in the real world but honestly come round and explain why we close the place and throw everyone out of work as we can’t afford an inflation matching pay rise

I’m not joking the offers there

Where did I say that?

I said why are proper taking the time to qualify and take jobs knowing the salary etc if it's that bad?

I wouldn't say easiest job on the planet but have you got many plans for your few weeks off?

The strikers who have had 'results' so far this year have still taken below inflation increases.

Executive pay and dividends are still being paid handsomely so the money's there, its just finding its way to a small clique of people, it's time that changed.

People who go to work every day shouldn't be struggling to live.

I don't envy teachers .. not a job I could do .

With all due respect

Not a walk in the park is it

My mates daughter and son in law, both teachers are working abroad, they get treated brilliantly.
Both returning to the UK next year and neither will go back into teaching here, they get treated like shit.
We're going to end up with a real crisis if we don't start treating people better, not just in teaching but in several sectors.
