I'll tell you why, there are still individuals who in my opinion see the Trust as a vehicle to get onto the board or something and suck up in their own way to the one who could make that happen which is a bloody shame because there are others who do and try to do splendid work in their own time too.
In my opinion this meeting shouldn't happen as respect to our suffering fans and football club

It probably won't achieve anything but isn't it worth trying?
You never know, we might learn something or get an answer to a question we didn't expect.
Fair play to the trust, it's worth a go.

Or the Trust's role should be to help facilitate dialogue between fans and club.

You may not like or believe what Fisher has to say, but to deny him the right to speak would be ridiculous.

What I don't like is this trust members and "invited" guests only thing. Why ? and who qualifies as an invited guest ? Should be a fully open forum yes with a ticket and in a venue large enough to suit, the Albany is rather small. Plenty of larger venues it could be held in.
It's only a couple of quid to join the trust, so it's open to anybody really.

I know them all and don't know one of them who would suck up as you put it.
Funny isn't it. Some of us have a go at the trust for being too shouty shouty on occasion, some feel that they suck up to our owners.

Not entirely sure who (bar RFC!) has ever sucked up to our owners mind you!

(Although there was a very strange chap at Northampton who was keen to shake Fisher's hand and look positively delighted to have the chance to praise him - perhaps that was RFC!)

Really can't see how it is sucking up to them by letting him speak and be quizzed by fans though.

Some people just prefer the shouty action.

Why don't we all stand up and boo when he turns up on stage ?

I'd rather people listened to what he had to say and refused to move from a topic until he comprehensively answered the question asked rather than skirt round the issue.
This is as good a chance as it gets to find out what they have planned for us, we may end up none the wiser but it's worth trying to find out.

why on earth would anyone intent on taking over a football club have fisher involved? He's proved himself utterly incapable.
Unless he's running the club in the way he is, on the instruction of the people behind a takeover,
I've said before it's a bit far fetched to believe anyone could run a club this badly by accident.

Personally I believe the ultimate aim is liquidation, and has been for a long time, when it eventually
Happens we will be so insignificant it will hardly raise an eyebrow.

What would they gain from it?

Of course allow Fisher to speak and answer questions my criticism is this should be an open meeting advertised in the local media, at a suitable sized venue as the three pre Northampton meetings at the Holiday Inn were. The Trust get a lot of unfair criticism plenty on here in the past about being insular etc., something I've never done, I fully respect any who give up their free time for the cause but in my opinion this members only meeting with "invited" guests in is wrong.
Just who qualifies as an invited guest and why ? now if the invited guests included Damien Collins MP, TalkSports Jim White or the Daily Telegraphs Henry Winter great, all very critical about the stewardship of our football club then I'm all for it.We need our supporters to be galvanised now more than ever this isn't the way.

It's been in the telegraph too about it hasn't it? It's open to all trust members and I am pretty sure they wouldn't turn non members away if they signed up on the night?

It does say Nick attendance is by ticket to Trust members and invited guests and as last time you can send questions by twitter, again computer literate based, unfair imo.
But to answer your theory if you turn up on the night, join and get in that can be answered on here today.

So just sign up with the trust then for an invite. If people really feel aggrieved and want to quiz Fisher is the quid to sign up going to stop them?

I am pretty sure if giving questions in advance to people at the trust they will try and ask them if people don't have the internet.

I'm not really sure what people expect? If people really want to go and quiz Fisher, the Trust have put the option there.

They aren't going to go and pick somebody up from their door step because they can't drive, or send out VHS copies if people can't use the internet.

I don't think Henry Winter would be very pleased to be described as a Daily Mail journalist!! Seriously though, would be great to get some one like him or David Conn there.

Think you miss my point Nick, I can go but believe in what's probably the old fashioned way advertise in the local media, apply for tickets, at a suitable venue been done before and meet.

Really can't see the issue.

If there are people who really want to put their point to Fisher, they will know about it. I doubt there is a man living in the countryside with no internet who doesn't read CCFC news in the paper, who doesn't speak to other fans or go to games who has a burning question for fisher.

If someone is a member the Trust have that persons details, address etc.. If they allow anyone to just attend and something happened then how do you trace an individual?
Am sure the Trust will allow none members to attend if they know who they are or have attended meetings in the past, but SBT members should be given priority.

I would imagine Fisher has asked for certain measures to be put in place.

Some prick will start proceedings stating that his balti pie was luke warm.

Fisher will wax lyrically about this for an hour, then say time is up.

Get used to it people. No drive in the fan base

You're right we need Shane O'Connor to return and pick on the questions and answers Fisher gave at the time him about the reasons for the move to Sixfields and the future of the Club
Yes....don't forget his 3 year plan to get us in the championship and to develop an academy that is the cornerstone of our club. Someone ought to ask him what he has to say about those remarks. An utter failure. Next he'll say he wants promotion back to league 1 straight away.

Why it's a Trust meeting with Fisher. I've already had two people who arw not members asking me to get them some I told them to join the trust, they both refused saying no way would they join those wankers. My response was but you want to go to a meeting arranged by those wankers suggested they were the wankers.
Another thing who pays for this yes the trust

Really can't see that logic about saying "who would want to join"?

If you dont join, you cant go to the meeting. It's a bloody quid handed over and that's it, you aren't really committing to anything by doing it.

I'm usually for the first for a trust dig, but some of this is strange.

So are the "invited" guests Trust me

So are the "invited" guests members then ? no obviously. But you illustrate a point with your two mates saying I wouldn't give money to those wankers a wrong discription by your mates, but an opinion not uncommon amongst a lot of fans mainly through ignorance and perhaps reading shite on here about the Trust.

Surely anybody can understand that it's a trust event? I disagree with a fair bit the trust say and do but at the end of the day it's a quid to be a member.

If people really want to go and quiz Fisher then give them a quid and go.

You're right we need Shane O'Connor to return and pick on the questions and answers Fisher gave at the time him about the reasons for the move to Sixfields and the future of the Club

I used to listen to Shane O'Connor's interviews with TF on the way to work in the morning. I didn't think he gave him a particularly hard time. I don't think Shane was a City fan ( not saying you have to be to do a good interview), and I don't thing he fully understood some of the issues in the way that a true fan who has lived though this mess does. The only person on the radio who I felt really went for him was Laura Bailey, who is a City fan , who interviewed TF after the cup exit against Worcester.
I think you need someone tuned in to ask the supplementary questions that need asking. If each fan is given only time for one question Fisher can bat it away and the next question on a different topic is asked.
If, for example, someone asks a question about the site of any new stadium, Tim's standard reply is probably going to be we are still looking, it's very difficult, commercial sensitivity, blah, blah, blah. If this is just left at that he gets away with things.
The supplementary questions could be about;
  • Freedom of info. enuiries that show no discussions with LAs have taken place
  • The fact Anderson said at the Trust meeting last year " I think they (Sisu) were looking at one site but not any more." Only for TM to say later that the BPA was their preferred option but they had another site in mind.
There needs to be someone there to keep pressing on each issue raised so that the lies and inconsistencies are exposed. Radio interviewers have let him off to easily. I hope the Trust have someone lined up who is tuned in and won't let a topic go until Fisher has been made to sweat and has been exposed as the charlatan the undoubtedly is.

Are questions to be vetted beforehand ?
Godiva, I think those questions ought to be circulated to trust members, so they can ask one each.
Either way, if Fisher had any honour, he would resign NOW

If it's live I'm not sure how it can be if fans can ask them?

That was what the SCG was for & look what happened there when they didn't behave like lapdogs.

I would think the term "invited guests" was used as a way to limit numbers nothing more. The last thing needed is an angry mob where nothing gets heard answered or challenged - restricted numbers has nothing to do with being elite-ist. On a similar vein the last thing the Trust needs is a meeting that gets out of hand when they trying to encourage fans ownership. Smaller numbers are easier to control pure and simple

It isn't just about hearing what Fisher says it is also about hearing what fans & Trust have to say. A meeting that gets out of hand or just becomes emotional shouting is not what is needed

Also there is a list of names, so trouble would be much less likely.
