I believe the actual deed is that he is setting up a charity and donating that money to the victims of the war.To be fair he said he’s donating all proceeds of Chelsea sale (guessing £1.5-£2bn) from the sale to the victims of the war. Maybe a bit of guilt money but fair play, more than other oligarchs are doing. Apparently he was also trying to help Ukraine broker peace deal. not sure of ulterior motives but I think Ukraine confirmed his attempts to assist on their behalf
Nobody said it was the UK's fault, obviously.
You're windmilling all over the place here.
Georgia have also applied to join EU. The Putin master plan is working like a dream
I’m not I am merely pointing out the EU block has a massively varied opinion on Russia purely down to economic self interest. Italy and Germany as well as France to a lesser extent are reliant on Russia to function due its total need for its energy reserves. It totally destroys the myth that a United eu is a strong one as in the end the big countries in it will talk big and still take the Russian gift of energy
it will also of course sell the arms to the ukraines to make even more money while continuing to suck up to Putin
Scum aren’t they?
I think they might have a role to play. If they decided to reduce trade/implement sanctions I’d imagine Russia will be well and truly fucked so they could certainly apply pressure. I said yesterday China doesn’t want this escalating to a nuclear war any more than us so it’s in their interests for Russia to de-escalate to reduce that risk
Oh god....now you've done it.Seems as though the EU is very united over their stance against Russia. Surely they wouldn't be at the same point so quickly without the bloc, it would require a lot more time and negotiation?
I was also under the impression that the EU approved a huge package for defense spending in Ukraine, and are supplying them with weapons? Or are you talking about previously before all this kicked off?
So you haven’t posted any criticism of the uk response in this crises - ok fair enough I apologise

Good grief.
Maybe log off for the night and leave this to the grownups
Your lack of self awareness is genuinely amusing
So 30 years before we start seeing the benefits of Brexit then, according to the Brexit minister. Out manoeuvred by Georgia. Global Britain. It will of course take 20 years to join the eu but hey ho
Ermmm... I'm new here.
Think the actual phrasing is"net proceeds to all victims of the war" so I'll wait and see how much goes to whoI believe the actual deed is that he is setting up a charity and donating that money to the victims of the war.
I refer you to your earlier post complaining about Russian gifts and sucking up to Putin
Denazification seems a phrase open to all sorts of abuse/ interpretation. Russia can't/won't deal with their own extreme right wing factions.
My final thought on this whole thing as I can't be arsed arguing these days....
I hope Ukraine pull it out the bag , I don't think they will , I can't see where NATO help them directly without them invading or attacking a NATO country first ..
That's me done with it , crack on
Think the actual phrasing is"net proceeds to all victims of the war" so I'll wait and see how much goes to who
It's a made up word.Denazification seems a phrase open to all sorts of abuse/ interpretation. Russia can't/won't deal with their own extreme right wing factions.
that's a weird argument - you on the pipe again?
Any hope of stopping the bloodshead should be considered. At this point, "demilitarisation" probably means giving up any hope of joining NATO or the EU and no nukes on their soil ... but still having Zelensky in charge? Wow, isn't he, in their eyes, part of the "Nazification"?Russian officials say they expect Ukrainian negotiators to arrive on the Polish-Belarusian border for the next round of peace talks on Thursday morning, where a ceasefire is set to be discussed.
Moscow's chief negotiator, Vladimir Medinsky, told Russian media the Ukrainian delegation has left the capital city of Kyiv and that Russian troops are providing a security corridor for the delegates.
Russia's foreign minister Sergei Lavrov said earlier on Wednesday that Moscow remains committed to the "demilitarisation" of Ukraine and added there should be a list of specified weapons that can never be deployed on Ukrainian territory.
But he said that Vladimir Putin's regime recognised the Ukrainian people's right to chose their own leader and that Russia accepts Volodymyr Zelensky as the legitimate president.
Is this the first sign of a change in approach from Russia saying they accept Zelensky as president? Or is it meaningless?
I imagine Ukraine see their decision to give up nukes and not joining NATO as the reason they are now being invaded. Old Eastern bloc members that are in NATO haven't got a Russian invasion to deal with.Any hope of stopping the bloodshead should be considered. On paper, looks an option, but considering the pack of lies they've been peddling for the last few months, probably have him poisoned within a few months and have some new "elections".
Probably raises the issue of what happens to Georgia now they look like pushing ahead with NATO and EU membership.I

Meaningless. Its just a show to try and make it look like they are trying being reasonable and Ukraine are the ones being unreasonable. This is all part of the propaganda war. If Russia had any intentions of agreeing a ceasefire they would scale down their invasion whilst talks are ongoing not escalate as they are doing.Russian officials say they expect Ukrainian negotiators to arrive on the Polish-Belarusian border for the next round of peace talks on Thursday morning, where a ceasefire is set to be discussed.

Not sure it’s a war crime to kill another soldierNow Ukraine planning to do some war crimes
There might be something in there about treatment if they surrender. Not sure it’s a war crime to kill another soldier
It is when they are trying to surrender which is what they're heavily implying here. Not sure it’s a war crime to kill another soldier

The thread has include suggestions that tbe uk decision to leave the union was something that helped Putin and if we were a collective force his position would be weaker - so yeah it is
